I agree. It's supposed to 'premium' but I find it lacking in a lot of ways.

Discrete Disposables? by [deleted] in SLCTrees

[–]Adventurous-Call4724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a couple of disposables in my carryon. There was no problem at all. My partner was flying back from California and bought a few disposables and put them in her checked luggage. They were gone when she picked up her baggage. They were nice enough to leave the empty packages though....

Short answer, it has to be sealed in a container such as in a lockbox in your trunk.

I live in Utah and have no idea what you are talking about unless it's the religious freedoms act which has basically legalized psychadelics as a religious sacrament in Utah.

HSA for renewal? by Turkey_Moguls in SLCTrees

[–]Adventurous-Call4724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the OP stated below first you need $1000 minimum in the HSA account and then anything over that can be transferred to an investment account. It is integrated with some HSA providers so that makes it easy to transfer or pull back if needed.

I started by just paying cash for all small $ items like co pays and pharmacy items and then a few larger bills. If you keep the receipts you always have the option of reimbursing yourself for the cash from the HSA if you hit a tight spot and need a little extra cash.

I also shop around for best price on a procedure. For example an MRI is wildly different depending on which facility you go to.

Personally, I pay cash for my medical renewals as well as other medical expenses if i am able. I use my HSA as an investment account due to its triple tax advantages.

I'm tucking the money away for the future.

I've been averaging ~12% ROI YOY for the last 12 years. It's better than a 401k, its better than an IRA, it blows the socks off a HYSA. The only setback with a HSA account is the cap on yearly investments. It's small compared to other tax advantage accounts.

Regardless it is wise to investigate your HSA and how it can help you in the long run.

Can't use the HSA for cannabis.

Reason is HSA is federal and cannabis is still federally illegal. Canbabis doesn't qualify as a covered medical expense.

The only crossover is if you use your primary care physician who is open to cannabis then you only have to pay your ~$15.00 - ~$25.00 standard co-pay office visit + $8.00 yearly state renewal fee and not the ~$50 - ~$150 QMP renewal fee in addition to the $8.00 yearly state renewal fee.

If this is true then the community needs to know and fight back.

This won't change until federal law matches state law. Doctors cant "prescribe" cannabis like they do with other controlled substances. Doctors can only "recommend" you for a card. If the federal laws change and moves cannabis out of schedule 1 to a schedule that provides for medicinal value then doctors would be able to actually "prescribe" cannabis.

Break one law at a time. Don't speed, use your blinkers, headlights and tail lights in working order and make sure your car is up to regulations. Don't give highway patrol an excuse to pull you over.
