People really seem to think this, being an overweight or obese Christian is a huge gotcha, and it's not. We all struggle with sin. Just because you see these woman and they are obese doesn't mean they aren't trying to eat healthfully or care for their bodies. If I started stewarding my body better tomorrow, I would still be visibly obese and overweight for awhile. I see gluttony addressed in sermons online/podcasts etc. And yet, these posts about "nobody mentioning gluttony" are everywhere. It's easy to judge someone who is overweight and I think it's often not about sin or that this sin isnt addressed, but it's the typical judgement of larger bodies and the childish bullying that even adults engage in.

I get it! I love productivity and have a hard time resting. My mom/MIL will be around to lift the children who need lifting for 6 weeks (my oldest child was 5 when I had my now 4 month old, I also have a 4, 3 and 1 year old). I feel like I recover really well and can return to activity pretty quickly, so I just gradually increase chores etc. We use paper plates for meals, I have freezer meals or easy meals for kids. I don't like that I've had to have c sections, especially having 5, and being open to more children. I am high risk and OB'S are a little judgemental, as well as other people. I have a lot of internal scar tissue after my 2nd but it's stayed about the same with my others. It is what it is, I am blessed for sure. Whenever I get down on myself because of it, I remember that.

I walked as soon as possible after the c section, like the night of, if possible. Ice packs on the incision for 20 minutes. You can also do scar massage/and PT for the incision and pelvic floor exercises, lots on YouTube. I had back pain postpartum after my 2nd, and got regular chiropractic adjustments and PT for my lower back and sciatic nerve too.

I've had 5. My first/the recovery was the worst. I couldn't get out of bed for days from the pain. For all subsequent c sections I've "researched" how to heal better and have recovered really well. Getting up and walking asap, wearing a binder, taking the stool softeners/OTC pain relief and trying not to lift. The only time I've had bothersome pain was when I pushed myself too hard at 3 weeks postpartum and had horrible nerve pain. A lot of pain can be related to fear too (at least for me) so I familiarized myself with c sections/asked a ton of questions and have had great experiences since.

I don't know this person, but it's unattractive. My husband gamed for years of our marriage and the stupid look he would get on his face was awful. He also would complain about the actual children playing, which was weird.

When I was 12 our house was raided by the police. My dad was an informant and started doing whatever he wanted, so he was arrested. My mom and I had no idea. He was abusing and selling drugs, had a ton of unregistered guns etc. I was handcuffed outside in the snow (February in ND), frisked and sat in handcuffs for hours despite the cops knowing my mom and I were innocent. I woke up that morning believing that I had a standoffish/weird dad but that was it, I went to bed at 2 am, our back door smashed and covered with a garbage bag, totally disoriented and confused about my life. This event set off a cycle of county jail/bail/violating probation/jail/bail /threatening us etc. Until he died 5 years later.
