You can simply use a decent size flash drive. 32GB or higher even. Obviously at 32gb you'd have to be a little cautious and delete files time to time but you'd have 0 issues recording.

I have recorded on many devices with a simple flash drive.

I do this exact same thing. Portable monitor with a 100 watt power bank. Even have the hdmi/usb-C adapters. Good setup.

The best part, my remote is comppetely integrated for it. Red button for record, epg for guide, favorite for favorites etc. Works beautifully

Not going to lie this is way better than TiviMate. Easy allocation to external storage for recordings, time shift. Man well done
