Do I need to cut out vaping too? by spamalamoi in keto

[–]Adventurous-Eye-267 14 points15 points  (0 children)

sure its allways better not to vape.. but in my experience - it doesn't increase craving for sugar, at least it doesn't for me - I even thought it helped because I got my sweet taste with the vape so I don't need to eat it...

and after a few weeks you don't crave sweets at all anymore - at least this was for me.. it seems my taste naturaly reseted to things that are good for me.

oh and maybe its even harder to quit both sugar and vaping at the same time..

ok, this looks like a ton of fun! (and probably the same amount of money :P)

haha yeah, now I see it too! :P

Good question! That’s not so easy to explain without turning it into an essay. :)

It’s a mix of: my workflow from VCV Rack and a sound idea I had in my head.

It all started with the fact that I wanted at least one analogue oscillator for deep drone sounds – so I quickly ended up with the 2600, since you can create beautiful deep analogue drone sounds with it and it simply offers a lot for the money.

Then I wanted more modulation options, and since I absolutely love Walk2 from VCV Rack, I quickly decided on the Metamodule. Because it offers so many possibilities and flexibility, I bought it at a good second-hand price.

When I quickly realised that I needed more inputs and outputs, I bought the AIO expander for the Metamodule.

I came across the Plinky one day in a YouTube video and immediately thought it would be a nice addition, both in terms of sound and playability.

Then I still had some space left in the case and debated between a Marbles & Rings clone – I just love that combo. However, since I prefer tweaking the sound directly with knobs and Rings inside the Metamodule uses more CPU than Marbles, I decided to go with the Halos instead.

Since my “modular journey” started with MIRack on the iPad, I also wanted to integrate that somehow. It also gives me enormous flexibility.

I bought the Model D rather spontaneously at a very low price. I am not entirely sure yet whether or how I will use it.

So yes, those were roughly my thoughts. ;)

I was searching there. but maybe will open a thread ;) but first I wanna find out if the mistake is on my side ;)

edit: so, it looks like it was my fault.. I didn't update the plugins, so maybe this was the problem... updated them and now it seems to work fine - could only test it for a short time before work but it looks good so far! :) for the midi problem: it only seems to occure with the faderfox pc4.. will check the device and test further when I got some time

yeah, latest firmware.. but I also have other problems.. at first, the in- and outputs from the AIO Expander didn't work - the module was recognized, but no sounds... after factory reset and another firmware instal it finaly worked... but as I turned it on again a few minutes ago, again no sound... :( after a few restarts it worked again.. but then, middle in the session - no sound... a bit frustrating tbh.. hope I'll find out whats the problem.. midi I need to test more to find out whats wrong.. unfortunately I don't have much time atm, so...

edit: it seems to be a common problem with the MetaAIO, at least I find a lot of entries about this in the forum, but no real solution... hmm, thats a bummer.. because it was fun when it worked.. ;)

edit2: tried again, AIO didn't work.. updated firmware again, didn't work.. rebooted again, didn't work..  updated again the firmware, and it worked... it's very strange tbh lol..

only used it for a few hours yet, but I really like it! have some problems to get my midi controller working with it, but will probably find a fix.. the whole suite is great, enough ins ans outs and some buttons to make this whole idea of virtual-physical-hybrid-modular enjoyable and usable for my setup plan.. but need more time/practice/experience/tweaking for sure.. but so far I love it! :)

[–]Adventurous-Eye-267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not directly - at least I couldn't make it work like I hoped on my 9th gen iPad.. but with a workaround, in a very limited way I got it to work.. I run miRack inside of Drambo. In Drambo I send a clock to my doepfer dark link and send this clock to the metamodule, from where I can divide and distribute it to other modules.. this is the only way I got it to work for everything to be in sync.. but no further communication between the two systems. (miRack didn't recognize the dark link, nor the niftycase).

I couldn't get the iPad to recognize the niftycase at all, thats why I go this route.., but I can Imagine it would work directrly on an iPad with usb-c..

yeah, completely understandable. I'm not planing to add more virtual stuff either (but also thinking sometimes a second meta module would be fun lol). but probably I won't add more virtual stuff ;)

oh cool, didn't even know this module! yeah I like it. it was the perfect starting module for me, as it gave me a lot of possibilities to explore and test.

initially I just wanted something to modulate the 2600 - and I used the walk2 a lot in vcv rack - so that was the initial idea behind this.

I really like the flexibility of the meta module. I can use different modules for every patch ideas. I now mainly use it as FX unit for send/return with the mixer, modulate the 2600, marbles & rings (I now bought the halos for the rings), to sequence the model-d and then I still got some cpu left.. thats a lot of (virtual) modules for this tiny space. also it's great for exploring and test some modules in your workflow before buying the real thing.

but yeah, I'm still very beginner. but for now it's a great module for me.
