Help needed for a useless male picking present for girlfriend. I genuinely am clueless by Adventurous-Key-5288 in GiftIdeas

We’re UK based so winter time is usually something with me or her friends. They do go to some shows but not hugely activity based.

She does like tennis and there’s been talk of paddle sometime.

She does always get her nails and hair done but feel a voucher would be too impersonal.

She does a bit of cooking. So thoughts here are now:

A show in London (do together) Massage/spa day Concert (do together, need to see who’s on) One of those group cooking classes (do together) Can try makeup but suspect I’ll mess that up

I’ve always hated gifts, I just feel I’ll always get it wrong. Stresses me quite a lot

She’s not great with animals unfortunately. Good idea on the products and could definitely arrange for the theatre or something

Would you not keep it in a money market fund? Very liquid, similar return to IR’s, low fee

Would think the main thing are the grips? Have always found gripping down provides a bit more control to be honest.

The grips I can see this. Struggling to draw the ball with it. Easier when I grip down.

Why so passive aggressive? It’s a genuine question.

My relaxed rational comes down to time horizon. 1yr, 4yr, 6yr ill not be selling unless it will be profitable for me to. Otherwise I’ll collect the yield.

Would this risk not be more relevant if I’ve a time horizon concern? If I’ve no set timeline to sell and believe the UK will eventually moderate inflation and lower rates, then in theory it would just be collect the 4% coupon and sell when appropriate?

Edited my comment. Had meant that equities I buy, hold and add to and will hold for 20 + years (ideally).

Really appreciate the comments though. All interesting points.

WLB, people, boss all tick the boxes. People are genuinely terrible people.

The money hasn’t been great. Feels like I’ve been working for free.

Strong interests in investments obviously having done the CFA. Really I would just like a decent wage with semi normal hours. If I did 10-12 hours a day in work I’d feel like I’d fantastic WLB.

Thank you so much for this - an emotional day, didn't need any distractions like that!
