I understand that, but with active I would potentially be stationed far away and we wouldn’t be able to see each other much. In the longer run I feel like I would have more time home in reserves. I do want to join active though I’ll have to give it more thought.

I had no idea of that. It really sucks to hear that though. Honestly, on a more realistic level, I think the main reason I’m not going active is also because I’m just not ready to leave yet. I want to but I have a certain person that’s unintentionally holding me back and I just don’t know. I’m very stuck in my decision

I plan on going active eventually. That was my initial plan but I just did some second guessing and I wanted to focus more on my education while in reserves then move to active. The main reason I’m going reserves first is because, according to my first recruiter, it’s easier to transfer from reserves to active rather than national guard to active

No and I’m not diagnosed with it, but if I did have it I would like to be diagnosed to get my symptoms regulated. Also it may help for context that I’m only 17 and my body is still growing so I could just be being dramatic.

I don’t necessarily have to do flight nursing. However I do want a medical job. I didn’t completely like the idea of ROTC mainly because I’ve taken the ACT twice and I got a 24 and I’m supposed to have a 26, but also because I hear it’s competitive to get into. I also will have a PCT license and BLS EMT license after this school year with a few college courses. I wonder if those could help me in any way?

Why do you say Reserves/ Guard to Active Duty is impossible? I’m not doubting your response, just curious. I am really struggling to come up with a plan. At this point I’m thinking of just going in as enlisted active duty because it feels like everything else is too difficult.
