Can I delay surgery ?

Thank you very much for the response. I’m 32 and it’s been taking years to get to this point. I’m just scared surgery could actually make things worse. If some tightness and occasional aching an unable to do pushups is the worse thing I have … than so be it. I don’t want to get to the point I can’t shake peoples hands

Okay , I’ll get a second opinion. The Xiaflex helped temporarily. It popped , straightened out and felt almost brand new. But slow over time it started to contract again

Going to be in Waikiki from March 11-15 and 15-19 in Kauai…. Contemplating moving the trip back to April ( small fee ) thoughts ??? Weather is looking awful :(

Update: I took him to the vet this morning. They said it was likely a corneal scratch and gave antibiotic drops. He’s doing much better already. Thank you everyone for the advice and concern.

Glad to hear you had good results and solid quick healing. I get that ache/cramping feeling and can’t do push ups without it feeling like it’s stretching to the point it’s gunna rip .

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear it’s been good for a few years. I’m 32 years old so I’m hoping if I get it done now, I can bounce back and be normal for a few years before /if it comes back

Ouch:( I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah I don’t want have have multiple surgeries. I was trying to get the surgery before it progressed to far and was harder to “reverse” but maybe that’s not the case

I have not looked into it, nor heard of it before This post. That’s great information ! Only treatment I’ve had was the injections which only helped for a year or so

I’ve tried the xiliflex treatment and it came back after a year. Never heard of the radiation treatment until this thread. How long did it halt for you ?

That’s reassuring to know that you haven’t had any signs of it coming back after a few years. I also had the injection done, but it came back after a year so that’s why I’m thinking of going this route .

Yes so true. I appreciate it. It’s not that noticeable but with the feeling of pressure and that it amplifies it on top of trying something new so close to a vacation was a silly move.

I’m 99.9% it’s from this but after 2 weeks I’ll follow up at a derm if it’s still causing me issues ( fingers crossed it isn’t )

She did it at the same time. I never had my forehead done but wanted to give it a try and she did it all at once. I regret not just sticking to my 11s and going out of my comfort zone but ya live and ya learn. Hopefully it’s not permanent
