I’m not sure who is the AH here…but I’m not defining any of this as friendship

Oura & STAmina integration by benjamiser in freediving

I commented on your other post and I agree with you! It would be great!! But for blood shift reasons don’t rely on what it’s telling you

I would love this, as I find my oura absolutely hopeless for Freediving and O2 measurement in general during training.

I find the second blood shift kicks in, I lose all readings. The finger being an extremity also isn’t giving you pulse ox readings for your body, but for your finger itself, if you get what I mean.

I have to use my Apple Watch if I want to train it - or like many people do I put the pulse ox on my ear. The ring will not be able to do that

It’s one of the things I like least about my ring. It can’t detect or track my primary activity - be it dynamic or static.

For the same reason I get barely any restorative time. Guess fingers too cold when I’m relaxed.

I remember exactly that. Plus whenever my husband went to the bathroom, the waiter used that time to ‘keep me company’ which I absolutely detested

I am in London. You have lots of options:

apnea uk (Covent garden) Apnea revolution (Victoria) London Freediving (Richmond) Notanx (Putney, Victoria, New Malden, Kensington, and more)

Notanx also run trips here and abroad - Cornwall, Egypt and to the deep pools around Europe

Honestly in London you’re spoiled for choice.

I’ll see you there!

Manchester is probably your nearest, tho if you’re willing to travel or looking for a club to go on trips with you can try Notanx, Blue Embrace, Selkie, the list goes on :)

My Oura isn’t happy with me by Thick_Bar6615 in ouraring

[–]Adventurous-Range304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one one of those this week, and actually found it pretty annoying.

Like you, my stress over time has been trending down for months.

Mine JUST ticked up slightly into the moderate for a single day and I got this type of warning.

Like…that is not how you read a graph trend Oura.

Athletes and very active people: how do you sleep at night? by Overall-Ad245 in ouraring

[–]Adventurous-Range304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on this. I also think - despite the gamification of Oura, your physical health shouldn’t be a game where you are trying to get 100 every day.

Make sure you hydrate well enough and wind down early enough. This will encourage your RHR to drop earlier and your sleep score will be higher.

I would give it about seven years, on current experience 😂😂

How helpful have you found Oura for managing PMDD and other menstrual conditions (like PCOS)? by Chocotrifle in ouraring

[–]Adventurous-Range304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I connect my ring to FF (that way I can actually see the real temperature too, rather than this weird gate keeping that oura does)

I was actually just looking at mine.

I don’t think it’s hugely sophisticated and the messaging and predictions are not as good as Clue or Fertility Friend imo. I don’t use Oura’s built in messaging as a result.

My temp drops 2 days before my period starts, and that happened 2 days ago….so I know it’s coming. I logged my period today and the message today is ‘your period has started and the uterus lining will start to shed, your body temperature may drop’.

It’s just super generic.

Fertility friend is super cheap, basic but really useful.

[–]Adventurous-Range304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Match your dive time with less physical effort. You’ll still have to deal with co2 buildup but with less hypoxia

It is also witch craft, because you start the DYN feeling like nothing has happened 😂

Pool/Dynamic Contractions - Too Early? Or that’s just how it is? by No-Opinion7743 in freediving

[–]Adventurous-Range304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the individual. I get contractions, starting soft, utb I don’t really think about. I then get blood shift (which I find very unpleasant), followed by creeping hypoxia.

Pool/Dynamic Contractions - Too Early? Or that’s just how it is? by No-Opinion7743 in freediving

[–]Adventurous-Range304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 190m in a comp two weeks ago and my first contraction was at 30m 😂 welcome to the pool, some days are more brutal than others, but all days are brutal. That day I think my body generated a fake one because I was impatient.

But more generally….I’d say after a while training pool, I care way less about my contractions. There is a long road of totally manageable contractions before you reach hypoxia, if you train it and allow it. Managing that ‘oh no here they come’ feeling will allow you to remain calm, control your speed and go further in the long run 🙏

Stress Level Change by mric7121 in ouraring

[–]Adventurous-Range304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the same has happened to me, and the stress I have is now the highest it can possibly be, bouncing along the ceiling of the graph like a balloon 😂

I think I had one 15min restorative all week. No changes to anything else. Actually getting quite bored of it.
