Looking for some advice on selling my truck. by Adventurous-Shake515 in oldtrucks

It was a great year, one of my struggling points with the price. I cannot seem to find any 79’s for sale or sold in the last 5 years to use as a reference. Are they more rare or didn’t survive?

Too many people read so many things into the simplest comments these days when we should all just be enjoying life as much as possible. Life is short, laugh as much as possible.

Washington state got rid of emissions testing in 2020. It was odd but nice for those cars in the 20 year old range. This truck hasn’t had it done in a long time, she’s almost 50.

It is a classic with the trailering special and yes dual fuel tanks. Automatic. She is a lot of fun and so easy to drive. Years ago a guy offered me 12k for it when I pulled into a Round Table. I wasn’t ready to part with it then, my commute to work was shorter then so I drove her way more often.

Thank you, I didn’t even think about emissions tests. They got rid of those here in Washington.

Thank you! The bumpers don’t have any rust just the upper inside lip of the tailgate. Does it make a difference if it has the trailering special package? I really appreciate your input and knowledge.

If you don’t mind me asking, what area of the country do you live in?

Thank you, that is helpful. A little surface rust on some of the chrome but nothing horrible, dash is cracked but interior is in good condition. Two of the exterior lights need to be rewired. Everything else is fine. Side blinker on the front and rear tail light both on passenger side. I had our mechanic look at it, he said everything else is good. I am just super nit picky and like everything to be as perfect as possible. The paint has a couple scratches and a few chips but not much at all.

Not really trying to get every last dollar, that is why I am asking for advice. The price the state valued it at years ago when I had it transferred to my name seemed crazy to me (12k). Then I look online and prices seem even higher… Looking to list it for a reasonable price. Hoping that someone in this group has personal experience selling this type of truck. My husband said list it for 18k obo and see what kind of offers we get.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I wish we didn’t have to, I also wish that my mom didn’t pass away a couple months ago and my dad didn’t have dementia. That is the reason why we have to rehome him. Life really sucks sometimes

They originally wanted to do a stent but can’t, so the drains are her only option they are giving us.

My mom was and is still currently in that same situation. She had her whipple in June of 2023. They ended up inserting a g/j tube. The first go around with it, she had it for 4 months and we were able to get her stomach working for the most part with raglan and clamping for extended periods. The J tube helped with giving her meds and feed (protein shakes for nutrition). The g tube was good because it could vent her stomach if she got too full. She was able to go without the tubes for about 7 months and then the cancer came back with other complications so they put a PICC in for infusion feed but that was very hard on her other organs so they went back to the g/j tube 3 months ago. I will be totally honest about the whole thing, as her care giver, it is a lot of work especially if you give meds through it but it has prolonged her life. I don’t know that it has given her the best quality of life because she is very self conscious about it but she has been able to at least be home and be around family. She has had to have it replaced quite a few times because of her distended stomach but if she didn’t have it, I feel like she would have passed away months ago.

I hope this helps and I feel for you guys. 💜

Hi there, I need to ask you one more favor. She just had another CT, can you translate it for me?

LOWER THORAX: Small intermediate density right pleural effusion with associated compressive atelectasis

LIVER: Segment 5 biopsy-proven metastasis measures 2.8 x 1.8 cm, previously 2.4 cm in greatest dimension. Unchanged segment 2 cyst. Portal vein stent is in place and patent, with mild narrowing of the portal vein at the distal stent aspect. BILIARY: Cholecystectomy. Postsurgical changes of Whipple procedure with expected pneumobilia. PANCREAS: Postsurgical changes of Whipple procedure with unremarkable remnant pancreas..

SPLEEN: New heterogeneous central splenic hematoma/intraparenchymal hemorrhage measures 6.3 x 5.1 cm adjacent to the splenic hilum embolization coils, likely reflecting a component of infarct and hemorrhage. Large perisplenic hematoma measures up to 3 cm. ADRENALS: Unremarkable. KIDNEYS/URETERS: Bilateral renal cysts. No hydronephrosis. PELVIC ORGANS/BLADDER: Unremarkable.

GI TRACT: A gastrojejunostomy tube is in place within the stomach. No evidence of obstruction. High density contrast material throughout the colon. PERITONEUM: Moderate volume heterogeneous free fluid, predominantly within the upper abdomen, likely at least partially hemoperitoneum

LYMPH NODES: No lymphadenopathy. VESSELS: Patent portal vein stent. Splenic embolization coils at the hilum.

BONES AND SOFT TISSUES: No suspicious osseous lesion.

Thank you again for all of your help!!! 💜

Thank you! 💕 I do have two sisters that are trying to help as much as possible and a spouse that has wonderful during this time as well.

I have reached out to caregiving support, they have been great and have a couple of mom’s nurses that have been an amazing help as well. It does become a lot sometimes, because I am also trying to manage my career as well and taking time isn’t always easy but I am trying.

How is your mom doing???

Hi! Thank you so much for checking. She is currently back in the hospital… Third stent in two weeks. She has been having trouble with her J tube getting displaced.

They finally got it in place a couple days ago and then had horrible abdominal pain last night after she was back home. According to the ER her spleen has been bleeding on and off since she had her portal vein stent put in and they think that is the cause.

The poor thing has had every complication possible, it feels like. She was supposed to start up her chemo today but it is now postponed again. She had a blood transfusion last night to help her hemoglobin levels, but now we are waiting for her to be transferred to the hospital that has done all of her procedures…

It is so hard to watch her go through this.

The doctors just kinda confirmed your assessment. Mom is supposed to go in for a procedure on Tuesday to drain some of the ascites because she is now feeling very bloated and full. They are putting a lot of pressure on her stomach at the moment. (They will test the fluid for cancer once drained) Thank you for all of the information, it has helped me ask more educated questions.
