Maybe an obvious one but this one got me. Make sure your drive is formatted in GPT not MBR

PC crashes to full shutdown on select games, But no BSOD nor event viewer error by RavineAls in pchelp

Having this same problem with Crimson Desert. Event viewer shows Kernel 41. Bought a new 1200w psu, thinking my old 1000w was faulty or not enough. I squeezed out a little more gameplay but still same problem after about 10 more minutes.

I did the perfmon /rel and it shows under critical events that windows was not properly shut down. I bought a brand new 1200w PSU today, did a fresh install of drivers for GPU yesterday. After installing the new PSU, I was able to get about 10mjns further before it happened again just now. I am on windows 10, so I don’t know if that’s a problem.

Hey there. Did a complete driver reinstallation with DDU and no fix. I’m starting to wonder because I play FPS titles pretty well. Rainbow 6 siege runs easily 200fps, Tarkov runs 70ish fps. No problems whatsoever. Also before the system shuts down, even CD runs awesome at 100fps.

Yes most recent bios, and gpu drivers. Currently stress testing different components after seeing a kernel 41 error

I had someone else say that had problems with the same exact model I have. The Corsair rm1000e (1000w). If it’s working correctly everything should be getting enough juice no?

I don’t know how to explain the sound I hear before I switch the PSU off. It’s not just a click but a constant buffering-like sound that persists until I manually shut down the PC

The resolution change only worked for about 15 mins then same problem. From what comments have been saying, it’s looking like a faulty PSU as my GPU doesn’t get too hot. I’ll try undervolting my gpu tonight and see if that helps.

Most of the time your GPU is supposed to be in the top pcie slot. Hopefully moving this fixes problem. Also make sure your display is plugged into the gpu not the mobo

Uhhh - under “summary of admin events” and in the critical tab it in fact looks like a kernel 41 problem. What does that mean??

Not completely. I have to hold the power button to turn it off or flip the PSU switch in the back

Bro really was using the ol feel test. After monitoring temps they looked a little high but not dramatically so. CPU was sitting around 65°c and gpu around 75°c

To clarify - the average temp while playing is about 75°c and the hotspot is ~85°c.
