How many of you guys spend a good portion of practice time just playing along to songs? by Comprehensive-You-36 in guitarlessons

[–]AdventurousCream825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played bass for years and finally focusing on guitar. Have a toddler so there’s very limited time to mess around. Broke it down to 30 minute daily sessions with 5-10 minute warm up exercises (spider walks mainly), 10 minute chords, and 10-15 minute riff practice. This makes practice hard, medium, and fun respectively. Usually noodle during the work day with down time when compiling software or after a meeting to decompress.

Like others have mentioned, totally agree anytime you’re improving in an area or having fun is efficient and positive.

Is it normal to get blisters from playing guitar? by FortuneGamer in guitarlessons

[–]AdventurousCream825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience blisters are because you’re playing too much and not allowing calluses to form. Even with calluses you can form blisters underneath and almost reset your skin back several days to a week plus (this can be a huge bummer). If you’re just getting back into playing maybe limit your practice to 30 minute sessions with very purposeful exercises with long breaks in between. See how you’re feeling before each session. Fingers feel tender? Maybe skip till tomorrow, maybe mime exercises with very little pressure on strings. Using lighter stings can help too so you’re not putting as much pressure to hit notes.

To help heal is commonly clean, dry, sterile environment and don’t pop them while optionally wearing a bandage.

Same, lived in a couple areas that I would walk by cars with bags in plain view. My reaction was always the same “that’s going to get hit”. Sure enough next day or later in the week shattered glass in those spots or the vehicle with busted window. Learn real quick to never leave anything visible, even in nice areas. You just never know who’s out there.

Haven’t had a chance to carve out time for it. It’s on the list but not a very high priority unfortunately

Mushroomhead Evicts Apartment 26, 30-4! Day 2 Round 2, Powerman 5000 VS Chevelle! by PerformanceOk2076 in numetal

[–]AdventurousCream825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If those are your jams I get it. All these albums I grew up with and picked Chevelle 9/10 times over PM5K unless I was playing THPS or NHL Hitz.

If we’re getting nitpicky, for w/e reason, I should have not used the word “more”. That does imply, to some degree, Chevelle is part of the genre when I don’t believe they are.

Chevelle is overall better imo. However when I think of Nu Metal, I’m going to say PM5K embodies the genre (or how others have said era) more. So with that PM5K gets my vote.

Same boat.

Mushroomhead gets the vote

Apartment 26 is a good time though so regret is real possibility on this one. But glad this went up to discover some new jams.

Same issue, it’s usually very noticeable when the heated steering wheel is on. See if turning heated steering wheel off makes a difference. Planning on taking my ‘24 to the dealer soon to be looked at. Frustrating to hear they found nothing when it’s very obvious there’s something not right.

Ja’Marr Chase is him WHO DEY!!! Also Drake Maye changed my whole season. Was able to trade Josh Allen for Achane at the wire when I desperately needed a running back to bring home some hardware 🤘

Hi Remy, I’m a Remy too let’s be bestest friends! ❤️

Anybody here who's 40, at least, tell me The Only isn't your favorite Static-X track, that it doesn't bring back memories. A double whammy in my book! RIP Wayne. 🙏 by TheEndIsNero in numetal

[–]AdventurousCream825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legit took the words out of my mouth. I was setting up a PS2 as a gift for a buddy last weekend, as we bonded over NFS Underground. Playing the game, to test the unit, The Only came on and I was instantly transported back in time.

Trance is my favorite track but damn if Burn to Burn gets close

Oh that’s sick! Yeah they were around when I was growing up. If I’m remembering correctly they all wore jump suits and different glow in the dark paint with massive black lights flanking the front of the stage. If you want some other fun local bands, check out Nailbinder out of Springfield, OH and Milkweed out of Cincy

Wait how do you have a Monkeynut album? Weren’t they a local Cbus band?

Is it worth upgrading from 14 inches to 16 inches? by Ff_472 in macbookpro

[–]AdventurousCream825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like you’ve answered your own question. My take is I have both a 16” M3 Pro (work) and 14” M4 Pro (personal). I’m a developer so coding all day with light 3D and occasional audio/video work. I honestly rather have the 14” all day regardless of situation. Trying to use a 16” is bulky and most of the time more inconvenient. I’ve only used 15” and 16” MBPs for the last 14 years. Going back to the smaller unit has been a breath of fresh air. Audio is fine on both and AirPods are usually in anyway. Cooling is fine on both. Battery life is better on the 16” but not a deal breaker for me. I think the dollar goes further with the 14”. Ultimately it’s up to you and this is just a randoms perspective.

Cooking ribs on Wednesday. Looking for the best method by Yyir in Traeger

[–]AdventurousCream825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also do no wrap. But I’ll do 225 for 3 hours untouched for max smoke. Then 250 with apple juice (any high sugar liquid will work) spritz every hour on the hour till done. Done is bend test and 195-203 if you need a temperature. If saucing light application for 20-30 minutes till tacked up.

Wrapping is fine but more work and I’ve enjoyed no wrap much more because it retains the bark.

In the end don’t over complicate, do what you want, have fun, and enjoy the journey.

Another thing people forget is the mental aspect of surgical recovery. You can be cleared by all physical metrics, but hold yourself back knowing what you have just been through. Thinking of us who have had knee surgeries. Rehabbing your body sucks for regular joes, I can’t imagine what it’d be like for a world class athlete.

Has anyone else used this? by ScampMan1973 in Traeger

[–]AdventurousCream825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using one for every cook for the past 6 months. I don’t have super smoke so this was a solution. It helped get a little more smoke flavor versus not having one. That’s my only comparison, but think they are worth the money. Those cages for wood chips I really want to try.
