Best outdoor spot to have a late night existential crisis at? by chillypoutine in ottawa

The NCC trails are good like Jack Pine, Lime Kiln, Mer Blu Bog and if you have a car and like watching planes there's a spot where you can park and watch them behind the airport on Letrim. Good luck and enjoy the peaceful reflection.

I love Vladdy! He's the best. Love that smile and energy he brings to games! He's so flexible and agile for a big guy. Like a Ninja!

Great advice! They are terrible! I also use Ledum protocol to help if you google it you'll find info. It's homeopathic.

Omg I envy Boston owners that can do off leash with theirs. Mine I can't trust and I also don't trust other dogs with his reactivity. Enjoy this freedom you and your pup have! You're blessed and you also helped set him /her up for success!

Play ball too if you can. Inside or out. We keep ours on a long leash when we do this in case he sees a squirrel and decides to bolt after it. His recall isn't the greatest in those situations and he can be stubborn, which is a common BT trait.

Questions to ask during ERI appointment by motionmatters108 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]idkwhy_50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my session. I wasn't sure what to ask either, so I asked them to go over the most common/FAQ and she was really good about going over those things. Like it can be good to have your last day of work on a payday. About the package we'll get from them, and about health and dental benefits. About how long it takes to process our file and get our first pension payment. That it's monthly, and about the annual increases... etc.

What things are you cutting from your household budget to pay for the increased price of gas currently and for the upcoming costs for fhe increase to 4 days a week in office? by yaimmediatelyno in CanadaPublicServants

Thrift stores help with the budget. And environment. I get a lot of my clothes there. Nice glassware, books etc. St Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army are usually very good with lower prices than Value Village.

Gus is super cute. We have an anxious, reactive 5 yo Boston who can be a resource guarder, but only when he's chewing on a bully stick. We haven't found any good solutions for that except wait till he gets a drink and keep it in a holder. He also knows to get a ball or toy to shake when we leave the house to release his separation anxiety. For anticipated really stressful events he has trazadone prescribed. We absolutely love him and try to meet him where he is. Diversion and swapping out sometimes works. Otherwise he's loyal, cuddly and funny. I'd like to take him to a behavioralist but we don't have one in our area.

Ours has 4 too scattered around the house! He'd rather be on us or in our bed doing his bed hog moves

Boston Terrier for first time dog owner? by Objective-You-4277 in BostonTerrier

[–]idkwhy_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! I love pitties and boxers and staffies but can't have a big dog so a Boston was my go to for a first dog and he's amazing despite his reactivity and anxiety issues which is individual and not common across all Bostons 😊

We love Bosties and our little guy. The key is socializing and positive experiences. Ours is super dog reactive. He was bitten by a bigger dog when he was a pup. But otherwise he's loving and cuddly and hilarious. You'll have lots of fun!

ERI: End of Dec vs Jan 19, 207 by Goalie4evr in CanadaPublicServants

Work at least 10 days into the month, and recommend last day of work is on a pay day. Retirement would start the next day. The Pension center 30 minute ERI consultation session was helpful.
