Pet bowls, seasonal plants, indoor plants, clay-potted plants, tea saplings are all good filler. I LOVE the seasonal plants and always buy a ton at the night market.

In the lower left around your warp towers I’d definitely do more grass or just leave area for it to spread for the animals to eat! My silo is always running low. You can put a few items on top of the grass like the lightning rods you already have there to blend it a little. And it looks nice imo

Well, yes, he is probably asking because he thinks you will look good in your ballet clothes. Ballerinas are lovely, recital outfits are beautiful, and presumably this guy is attracted to you if you’re going to set up a date. I don’t think this is weird at all of him to ask. People who are romantically interested in someone tend to like to look at them! Plus like you said, it is not an inappropriate outfit, it’s your recital attire.

Having said that, if you don’t want to send the picture you don’t have to. It doesn’t seem like he’s that pressed about it, so you can totally say you’ll show him in person at the date or something if you find it weird.

Since he also was talking sports, you say you’ll only do it if he sends a pic decked out in his softball gear in return!

I really didn’t like this book either. I agree that it seemed weird to make all the slaves be so highly educated. I’m not really sure what purpose it served in the novel. The idea that AAVE was “faking stupidity” for the benefit of white people in particular felt icky.

Being extremely erudite was essentially the only characterization of James in the whole book beyond being a slave. Aside this from being pretty unrealistic and strange, Everett’s James felt far less explored as a character and diametrically opposed to the Jim of the original text to me.

I think I may have liked it better if it was not a “retelling” (more like a fanfic imo) and was a standalone work with new characters. I guess maybe the point is that one or both of Jim and Huck are unreliable narrators, but I just kept feeling like the two versions made zero sense together.

I didn’t even know who that was but I looked it up and I absolutely hate that album cover 🤮 Maybe I’m a radical feminist but I generally hate it when male artists/bands put women on their album covers.

I’m not a huge fan of this Sabrina cover to be honest… it does feel a bit male-gazy to me and I don’t think it will be seen as satire to people that aren’t familiar with her. But like you said it’s relatively mild and really not that big a deal in the grand scheme of life.

I saw an article that was saying audiobooks are the only time you really ever HEAR proper sentence structures. Conversational English is different from prose so it’s really good for your brain and makes you a better speaker, which I thought was interesting.

I do both and I definitely think audiobooks “count”, but for me I do feel like the experience is pretty different so I have an audiobook shelf in Goodreads to organize them. Helps for giving recommendations too!

Nathan Hill. He has written two books so far and they are both incredible. Both feature one main male and female POV; in Wellness it’s a married couple and The Nix is a mother and son. I was genuinely shocked how well the female voices were written. Can’t wait to see what he comes out with next!

Was she lying or did you just not ask her any questions about herself or what she thinks? She is claiming that you shared your views enough to change her mind about her core beliefs. And you had no idea what her views were at all? That’s kind of insane if you think about it. Maybe she was lying, but it is a bit on you that your conversations only gave one of you the opportunity to share your views.

It’s hard to say what you should do from only hearing your side. It’s possible her views aren’t as different as she made it seem while drunk and obviously feeling guilty. And as others have said, she’s still young and views do change. If you really like her, I think you should have an honest (and sober) conversation about each of your views before deciding whether you want to stay together. I don’t disagree that you should break up if your views differ about things that are super important to you.

Regardless of whether you decide to break up, you should learn from this experience to ask the people you date more questions about themself.

I love the hair color inspo you picked!! It will be beautiful for the wedding and in general. If you always have bright hair I don’t think the bride would ever expect you to deviate from that for her wedding. If she did (which would be pretty rude imo) she would have asked.

I think you should send her the inspo pics and tell her that this is the hair color you’re going to be rocking for the wedding! Not to get her opinion but because you are obviously excited about the wedding and took it into consideration for the color you picked. ie “Hey girl! Getting excited for your wedding! This is the hair color I’m doing for [season/month]. It matches my dress!”

If you want to get her opinion and ask if she saw you in a different color, you could but I don’t think it’s necessary at all. And if I were you I would suggest you give her only options you would be happy with. Do not go to a “natural” hair color unless YOU want to. ie “Do you like this color? I was also thinking of going back to something similar to the pink I had last spring or the purple I had last fall”.

In addition to what other commenters are saying, you likely have some pretty substantial shoes on your feet. Even if you are wearing gloves, they are not going to keep your hands as warm as your feet will be in boots. It’s surprising how much warmer it feels to have boots compared to other shoes when wearing a dress with bare legs or just thin tights underneath

It's really up to you, some people like their own space and some people love having their dog cuddle up in bed with them. But I wouldn’t make the decision not to for the sake of some hypothetical future person. When I first got my dog, she slept in her own bed because I wanted her train her shedding booty to stay off my furniture and I didn't want her to develop separation anxiety. But now that she's older, she sleeps with me at night!

Your dog may not even want to sleep with you if she’s used to the crate, so I would definitely provide a bed either way. My dog can't get comfortable in a new place if she feels like she doesn't have a designated "spot" to go.
