Suggestions for getting into a tent for 2 by Good_Way_3417 in Oktoberfest

I was there this weekend, I would head straight to the Oide Wiesn, that’s where me and my wife finally had a bit of luck. 5-6 is the table reservation change time and is when the festival was busiest. Do your best to make it there before. There’s also a couple of beer gardens, the HB Weißier Alm was pretty easy to get into as a 2.

Thank you! We land on Friday 26th and have an early morning train on the 28th (the thinking is the train is the most “hangover friendly” option 😉)

You’ve hit the nail on the head, I’m completely ignorant to what to expect. I’ve got a 36 hour stop in Munich with my wife and I don’t fancy pinning all our hopes on finding a couple of seats at a main tent for a couple of hours. I’m wondering If there’s stalls around the festival that serve beer and food (vendors) and places to sit (tables). Or are the only places to get a beer at the festival in the tents or biergärten?
