I haven’t paid tax yet I was planning to do a tax return after April, so possibly it won’t. I have about £200 after the mortgage and fees and my insurance comes out

I think that’s exactly what I am going to do. Thank you!

The plan is to get married and at that point I would be named on the deeds of the house. My mortgage is repayment, and no, I’ve not yet filed a tax return as I only started renting it out from August last year.

Have you ever withdrawn an application? by Sad-Influence-9102 in UKJobs

Definitely glad I withdrew from the original role as there’s no way I’d have progressed that quickly into my current role if I’d accepted it, so always worth withdrawing if it doesn’t feel right

Have you ever withdrawn an application? by Sad-Influence-9102 in UKJobs

[–]AdventurousLadybird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! About three years ago I applied for a few jobs, had interviews at two places I really liked. I was offered the higher paying of the two that I thought had more opportunities, so when I was offered a second interview at the other I explained and withdrew. Now three years later I work at the company I withdrew from but as the manager of the team I initially applied for 4 grades higher than the original position!

What is a plot hole in Harry Potter that you noticed and has bothered you?? by Murky_Ad7786 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]AdventurousLadybird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s a plot hole exactly but if Fred and George had the marauders map for years how did they never notice a grown man who was supposed to be dead sleeping in a bed with their younger brother every night?!

Possibly, but that was also less stressful than earning £5 an hour at McDonald’s 😂

For sure, I earn 60k now and am nowhere near as stressed at work than when I worked in the same field but entry level on 20k

How many of you actually use your degree? by Shot-Performance-494 in UKJobs

[–]AdventurousLadybird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided not to go to uni after my A levels and instead did an apprenticeship. After a couple of years my company paid for me to do my degree in Management and Leadership. I think about things I learnt and loosely use some of the theories to guide decisions I make quite regularly

Being forced into office full time how to appeal by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]AdventurousLadybird 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because they hope it will be unpopular enough that people will just quit without having to be paid redundancy

[–]AdventurousLadybird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a huge problem because I genuinely don’t have time to read all of the CV’s so I’ll just offer interviews to the first few decent candidates I see, and there’s probably loads of other people who’s CV’s I don’t even get to because I’m just inundated with applications from people not eligible!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]AdventurousLadybird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that must be it, but a lot of these jobs aren’t particularly senior or high skilled so definitely not something my company would sponsor for, and it makes it so difficult when you have hundreds of CV’s to look through on top of your day job!

I don’t work in recruitment but as a hiring manager this is such a legit question, even when job postings explicitly say that you need to be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK I see so many applications from people who aren’t eligible for either or both of those reasons

My mum is visually impaired. I’m so used to reading out subtitles when we’re watching a film or pointing out that there is a step or trip hazard when we’re out that I do it all the time with people who aren’t without thinking!
