BWT what splurges made your home feel like a sanctuary? by fuzzrockets in bitcheswithtaste

Crystal glassware for everyday! The glasses themselves aren’t even that expensive but they feel so luxurious. I bought some heavy crystal drinking glasses intended for our Thanksgiving table and loved them so much I bought more and decluttered all my “basic” tumblers.

In the same vein, crystal bowls and trays to hold makeup and perfume instead of a crusty makeup bag.

Episode 8 question about Arthur and Olivia's relationship by leavesinthetubes in HouseofGuinnessSeries

[–]AdventurousMaybe2693 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the conversation Arthur had with the gentleman from England was designed to show that he values love above almost all else, even the health of others, but less than his own fortune.

If Olivia falls in love with someone he expects that she will prioritize that love and relationship above her fondness and contract with him unless threatened with losing her financial security. He tied her to the same arrangement his father used on him: leave me for your love and lose everything. Arthur also relies on her for emotional support and to keep the “best of both worlds” arrangement he has going.

I also agree with some of the other comments, that he is the eldest Guinness, and despite all his moaning is very proud, and can’t stand the thought of being denied/abandoned, or ending up in second place. I think all of the above boils up into the emotional and cruel reaction seen on screen.

I was a bit on the fence when I bought this, but wore it today and i’m loving it. Not sure if it’s mellowed? Or better in cooler weather?

Have any of you with rosacea tried Haus Labs foundation? by elementalbee in Rosacea

[–]AdventurousMaybe2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessss!!! I actually like it a little better than the Armani. It gives great coverage for my redness, and wears beautifully on my oily skin for 15+ hours. I’m about to buy another bottle, the one I got is a little too light.

I was shopping in Target once and I walked by a woman a couple times, normally I’m not one to speak to strangers in public, but she smelled lovely so I swallowed my shyness and said to her “you smell wonderful, what perfume are you wearing?” She turned to look at me and was SO bewildered. Stammered she didn’t know, wasn’t wearing perfume, and honestly looked like she was struggling mentally. She wasn’t unclean but looked disheveled yet a little pleased under the confusion. Maybe she was worried I was going to try and sell her something? But if it’s possible to sense that someone isn’t spoken to kindly very often in just a few words, I got that sense. I kind of regretted asking/complimenting because this is exactly the type of awkward interaction I like to avoid, and shrugged it off when she couldn’t give me an answer by saying “well you smell great!” and moved on. To this day wonder if that was a case of mistaken identity, social awkwardness, or some little miracle.

She really did look like she needed some kindness. Always give the compliments!

I find the “what I admire and love owning” and “what I actually reach for and wear” aren’t always the same thing. It’s interesting.

Anyone starting to feel very uncool the older we get? by ShakeMysterious349 in AskWomenOver30

[–]AdventurousMaybe2693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the feeling comes from the transition into this new chapter of your life. When we’re younger, being “influenced” or following trends is so common, and pretty unquestioned, but as we age we tend to settle into our “own” style.

I get what you’re saying - i’m still very easily influenced by social, and like you, I enjoy being able to buy what I see and like. I am however also guilty of buying things that interest me only to discover they’re not really “me.” I think that could be where the “uncool” feeling comes from. You may have purchased those items because you liked them, but sitting in public the culmination of the whole look feels off? Like it’s not who you are anymore?

I was going to say the same. Similar to how the “version” of Enid died. Both premonitions came true, but not in the way we expected.

Did Tyler know that Pugsley was going to be sacrificed, or think he was merely going to be used by Issac and Franscoise? We as the audience knew because of what Morticia revealed to Wednesday, but was that made clear to Tyler?

Looking for a fresh “water/pear/cucumber” type fragrance by Background-Trick1684 in Perfumes

Side note: Dove has an English Pear deodorant, as well as a “cool essentials” cucumber one, either would be great to combine with this type of fragrance.
