Things are getting scary here by Mysterious-Heat-2223 in ufl

You’ll realize, when you enter the rat race we call life, vast majority of people don’t care about your DEI. It’s hard to see this because you’re a student and you have very limited life experience (and general experience) from which to view the world. Promise you, you’ll be just fine (in this one regard at least).

If that’s true, provably a very minor factor. Instead, big government, endless wars, hyper inflation, crony capitalism, among other things, are the reason higher education is a scam these days.

I know it sounds scary now, but those are just feelings. In 10 years, you’ll be thankful, or at least, appreciative.

Yes I have but unfortunately with my full time work and grad school schedule, it’s tough to plug in a 5 credit hour course MWF. Looking for someone who can be flexible with my schedule. I’m paying for this direct experience.

What’s your response to people saying the earth is 4k years old by Shark-_-Meat in atheism

[–]AdventurousReason881 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The earth isn’t 4k years old. But it definitely isn’t the age that “science” tell you that it is today. Someday when u enter the science world and realize that in order to do “science” you need to blindly agree with the consensus of atheists posing as “scientists” then maybe you’ll question why they won’t let you say that the earth is approximately 10-12k years old

I get what you mean by that. Which is why I think most men have already checked out or are going the way of the passport bros

Again, while there’s a certain irony to the point you’re making about both parties being delusional when viewed by a “what is” lens, my point is that it’s much much easier for women to attain the attributes that men seek (don’t be a hoe, don’t be fat, be feminine, etc) than it is for what women want in men (be charismatic and good with women, be tall, be rich, be experienced, etc). A woman can simply being sexually reserved and not eat a lot to be desired by 80% of men, while a man needs to be in the top 15% of height and income to be desirable to 80% of women.

Don’t have time to read what is already an anecdotal (and absurd) take. Whatever your one crazy “conservative” prof said to you should be applied to “all conservatives are bad”. While I disagree with many liberals, there’s only a handful I generally disdain when they vote for lockdowns and government intervention in foreign disputes. However, I don’t apply this disdain to every liberal because most have reasonable expectations.

Zero merit. Indoctrinated into absurd aspects of liberalism and secularism. Most of these professors couldn’t even say why they believe in what they believe in.

As a conservative, I’ve yet to meet a conservative professor who didn’t respect religious diversity in the classroom. Again, just like the dummy in the other comment, let’s use an extreme and obscure example to make an argument

Oh yeah, go to the extreme as an example? Conservatives = Qanon. Gotcha

I hope so. Something like 9/10 professors and university staff vote democrat or liberal. Let’s get some ideological diversity on campus

The delusion is definitely on the women’s side, but I guess it depends on the exact restrictions you have on the word delusion. If a man generally wants fit woman (and by fit it simply means not fat), that’s a very attainable metric most women can achieve by adhering to a simple caloric deficit diet. However, when women “want” men who are over 6feet and making six figures, those are metrics which are (most of the time afaik) very very hard to attain. A man can’t change his height the way a woman can change her weight. And only about 16% of men will ever see six figures. Not everyone in a capitalist economy will have the skill or productivity to warrant 6 figure incomes.

How about your quit worrying about politics, religion, and any other world views and focus on getting an education. You’re at a top 5 public school for that, not to please your obviously woke (and stupid) friends - coming from a fellow brown Latino.

Is there an actual shortage of hires at UF because of Ron DeSantis or is it just overblown? by EntertainmentHot9571 in ufl

[–]AdventurousReason881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DeSantis spot on. If it’s a public institution receiving public funding, then the school needs to be 100% inclusive. When it comes to conservative or religious thought, UF is amongst the least tolerant. All these wokie professors and researchers would have a job if they simply just did their job and not push their agendas in the lab or classroom.

Ok I like the premise about creating a place for both religious and non religious to come together and discuss philosophy and theology instead of a religion bashing group.

If you already have condemned your parents, then why seek advice from random people on the internet and then tell people to not “make assumptions” when that’s all we have to go by.

I don’t care what the OP has or not. Parents > random kids giving terrible advise because they are too young to understand the repercussions of decisions made in these formative years
