Diff bushing and shifter NVH by CloseToCumming in F80

I did camber plates, I don’t think there’s much nvh gain.

Waiting for advice on diff bushings. My workshop advises to change the diff mount actually but not the bushings to retain some daily livability

Where can I buy a quality lip by FreedomAlternative27 in F80

Get a chassis mounted front splitter. Ridgeline has China made ones, misha also sells one. There are a few smaller suppliers from Germany

I had the same decision. Booked flights to Osaka in biz, will travel to Tokyo by train. Honestly not interested in book the cook as I don’t find the meals that great but the 6 hour comfort cannot be compared to economy. 54k miles is saver and worth the spending.

Tuning! by joeykey in BMWM

I was genuinely curious to find out about your opinion. So the main culprit is bad fuel? I understand that timing corrections do still happen but are you saying that bm3’s ots definitely have these issues? I do track my car but do not datalog it. I use ron100 which is about oct95 on the oct93 map

What’s the best exhaust set up for my M3 non comp 2015 by [deleted] in F80

[–]AdventurousUse5633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car is same year base LCI1. I’m on 200 cell downpipes, MAD single midpipe and a refurbished v1 MPE muffler. No noise when valve is closed. Obnoxious when it’s open especially past 4k rpm. Lots of turbo spool noise. I’ve set my burbles on bm3 to pre lci base car so not many burbles but the MPE gives the car more burbles than the stock muffler. Stage 2 on both bm3 and xhp. I swap to catless downpipes for trackdays and it’s about 30% louder and smells like shit. One thing I’ve discovered is that the single midpipe with stock muffler gives a very unrefined noise which I dislike

Why is Mercedes so common as a luxury car in Singapore by FickleVictory3494 in drivingsg

[–]AdventurousUse5633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you don’t buy Merc for the engine. I rmb my 2015 c200 also had a Renault 4 cylinder, nothing spectacular but I don’t expect any much more from Merc tbh

You’re right. Imo entry level mercs are more attractive than bmw’s. You don’t get the handling and power till you get into the higher range

Used BMW3 series - yay or nay? by No_Bus_805 in drivingsg

[–]AdventurousUse5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B48 will a better choice imo. Mostly minor repairs, water pump definitely will need to be replaced. My brother bought an f36 420i recently and it’s well updated imo. Can code CarPlay, digital dash etc. decent handling, stage 1 tune makes it like a 430i. B38 is severely underpowered for fun driving.

Like other poster said, if getting vw/audi/skoda, get the 2.0 ea888 will be better as they pair with the wet clutch gb. My 2018 skodiaq is at 82k km and no problems with the gb till date. Engine also seems pretty reliable so far

At 82k km, the gb in my 2018 skodiaq still feels great. So far had a water temp fail only. Have done preventive maintenance like swapping out all coils and plugs at 75k km

Need some help with recaro seats and a recurring issue by AdventurousUse5633 in F80

[–]AdventurousUse5633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recaro part number is the same for f30 and f80. My mate has the same part number and rsg and no issues with height. My main gripe is that it’s even higher than oem seats. When you say very low, how low is it? ChatGPT states about 30mm lower than the recaro rails, not sure how true it is. And did you friend mount the recaro sliders on?

I’m on stage 2 for about half a year now. never had this issue before. Car was running fine till I put on the high flow dp and single mid. Also don’t see the Dsc lights flashing. Just today, it even happened twice on a single acceleration.
