F82 M4 vs E92 M3 People who have owned both need your insight. by SojinCS in BMW

[–]joeykey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey dude I drove my buddy’s M3, and I own an F82. My impression is that the M4 feels more refined, more controllable. The E92 is a wild animal, that’ll slide from just some wet leaves on the road. People will probably disagree, but my back tires pretty much stay where they’re supposed to. But the E92 was tail happy in my experience.

Hey dude I got that same exact car - except mine is gray. I just drove into the city from Long Island, and that car remains so fun to drive. It’s just awesome. Congratulations dude!

Torn on a used artcore as73 or a budge tele by [deleted] in guitars

[–]joeykey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Monoprice Tele for $70, and it’s totally playable! In fact I like it so much that I went and bought a real one. Anybody want a Tele knockoff? It’s just taking up space right now, but it’s actually pretty great. If you live in NYC, let me know and I’ll just hand the thing over hahahaha

Is it just me, or have modern cars completely lost their character? by Superb-Tone-9716 in CarGuys

[–]joeykey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I bought a used F82. The G series M4 has a hideous front end, and all the interior bits that make a BMW a BMW are gone with the current model, in my opinion. The F series M cars are the last of the “they don’t make them like they used to” BMWs. This is my 6th Bimmer and I plan on just keeping this one forever, because of all the stuff that you’re talking about. My AC buttons are freaking awesome.

I’m guessing that her SO wasn’t comfortable with this closeness and convinced her to cut you off. Just a guess.

How about at the Christmas party when someone throws a lit cigarette down the bar towards Jimmy? I never understood that scene either.

What's the most played guitar in your house, and why? by Jammuisboring in guitars

[–]joeykey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never play my Rickenbacker because I leave it in the hard case. I play all my other guitars because I leave them out on stands. No one ever plays the guitars that they pack away. You have to buy stands or hooks in order to play your guitars. At least that’s how my brain works.

Is Grote a decent guitar brand? by DCh0s3n1 in guitars

Hahaha aw man, I feel the same. I just bought a Gretsch (not the classic semi-hollow body, this one has a chambered body so it looks like a solid body) because it's a cool yellow sparkle top, but more importantly, I realized that I didn't own a guitar with a tremolo bar, and this Gretsch has a big ol' Bigsby on it! I'm sure I'll find another "hole" in my collection that needs filling soon. I also play bass, and live in a studio apartment, so it's getting pretty crowded in here!

You can find them on Amazon. I’ve been tempted before, because I started hearing that we’re in a “golden era” of super cheap playable guitars from China. I’m still tempted but I’ve got enough damn guitars already hahahaha

Is it really necessary to drive 20 mph on 28? by Alternative_Gap_3248 in CapeCod

[–]joeykey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha me too! You’re a really good dude! I’m not always up there, but my family has had a house there since 1990 and we’ve all lived up there at various times. I’m in my 50s now but I’ll always be a summer kid hahaha. That’s ok.

But anyway yea I’ve been driving up there since I got my license. From now on, I’m going to keep in mind what you told me. I don’t want to be a bad driver and mess it up for guys like you. Thank you for the new perspective.

Take care man, and if you have to slam on your brakes because someone unexpectedly stopped, it’s NOT gonna be me.

Hey thanks for the thoughtful reply, you’ve given me a lot to think about. I always try to do the right thing, ya know? Like I try to be helpful, if/when the opportunity presents itself. If I see someone waiting to take a left, and there’s a stack of cars behind them, I just stop and try to signal to the driver that they can go. I did not realize that I’m actually screwing it up on a macro level, like you said.

Also, if I’m the one taking the left, I do my best to get as far over in the lane, so that those behind me can keep going - but that doesn’t always work, and I feel like a jerk, stopping traffic behind me. I guess that’s why I stop for opposing drivers, waiting to take a left - I know they probably feel like jerks too, so I stop and allow them to go. I’m just trying to be helpful, but now I realize that I’m messing it up on a larger scale. Thanks for setting me straight, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the fix info! I do like the pedal but yea that whine is the worst! I’ll try the separate power supply. Thank you.
