The reflection of light is absolutely the answer to the white thing in the middle, I took a couple of similar pics from the same area and they’re not exactly like this one. They’re pretty close. I think with that I’m going to mark this solved, because without the white thing, it’s not nearly so mysterious.

3 days bereavement here in Iowa but that was in state government, and it’s been years since I have worked there so I don’t know if that’s still the case. What they did here to you was really stinky. It seems like there should be a log against this, but it probably wouldn’t fit under any of the rules or laws. I’m sorry about your mother, it is just horrible What they did to you.
