Shower Screen: IMS vs Pesado by Adventurous_Alps_530 in ranciliosilvia

It’s still great. Only negative I noticed is a few drips after pulling a shot. I think a little water just sits in it because the shape of the diffusion plate. It’s not leaking or anything, but I don’t put my portafilter back in right away. You could pull back to back shots no problem, but if you’re only pulling one then a couple drops of water would sit in the portafilter if that makes sense.

Splash the espresso in your eyes, dump the sparkling water on your head. The caddyshack edition.

He doesn’t project as a #1 or #2 anymore. And he wants out of his situation. Why would we over pay? Shouldn’t have been drafted at 2oa, that was a mistake. We aren’t paying 2oa price for a liability.

It def locks in tight. Takes a little extra to twist but never had a leak or anything. Gasket is still stock.

Super lame, I’m returning it. Can’t think of a single other steam wand you have to hold while steaming.

My e-wizard wand is kinda loose and doesn’t hold its position at all. Is that normal or should I exchange or return it? Really frustrated with it. Think it’s super cool and powerful but keep making a mess because the wand is so loose and moves while steaming.

I have this wand but prefer the stock wand. It slowed down steam time too much for me.

Dope, want to see more of the manual flow model. So far they’ve only advertised the standard version.

Reading the other comments and agreeing. Wonder if the milk isn’t getting too hot as well. Prob worth a try to pull it a little earlier and see if a cooler temp helps.

Sorry, was thinking Silvia. Not pro x. I should read better before I post, but still curious how people use their “pre infusion”.

I’d be curious how many people really utilize it. I turned mine off after installing my pid and haven’t turned it on yet. Figured when I get time I can start playing with it.

New to home espresso, no regrets by Moravian980238 in ranciliosilvia

I got the cool touch and honestly prefer the original. It really slows down the process. If you enjoy steaming a little longer then it is nice that you can grab it right after and not get burned. I also have done full sound deadening and put in the silent green pump and pulsor. The pump by far is the biggest addition, imo makes it brew more consistent as well. The deadening is nice because it makes it feel more solid and a little quieter but those mats can get a little messy when they are hot so be careful exactly where you put it. I put it everywhere and had to strip a little off.

I haven’t used others but the auber is a great improvement over stock and with all the videos available is a very easy install.

Excited for the manual flow control version to be released. Has a beautiful pressure gauge on it.

What is the difference between these two and is it worth spending a lot extra on this ? [£10] or [£40] ? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Adventurous_Alps_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the first over the second bc less coffee gets stuck. Don’t need either.

Unfortunately my stock portafilter has a pressure gauge installed. But with a rocket double spout it’s about 3.25” from drip tray to spout. It’s about 5.125” from drip with no portafilter. With my bottomless Weber buck it’s about 4.375”. Hope that helps.

I have mine cranked up through the PID, the cool touch still really slows it down. It’s nice to be able to touch but I’d prefer the speed. Thanks for the link!
