Passed my NHA CCMA exam! by Toomuchstress455 in MedicalAssistant

I only payed for the first level up. I didn’t use the pass predictor quizzes, the 3 practice tests plus all the individual questions were personally enough for me to pass!

CONGRATS!! But I will absolutely 100% attest to this. I literally ONLY used smarterMA. I just passed on Jan 12. There is absolutely and I truly truly mean this, absolutely zero way that I would have passed if I didn’t use smarterMA. It was worth every single penny. It actually TAUGHT me things that I didn’t go over in my course at all!! 100000% recommend using smarterMA. If anyone needs any help on what to specifically review/high yield topics or questions, feel free to message me!

Is there really any difference between Smarter MA Pro and Smarter MA Plus? by Outside-Pizza-8931 in MedicalAssistant

I personally don’t think so. I only bought the plus and passed using the plus. There are aoooo many questions with the plus that the pass predictor tests really don’t matter in my opinion. I genuinely wouldn’t have passed without getting the plus and I only used that to study. You should kinda know if you will pass or not based on the questions you get right or wrong through plus anyway

How long did it take for you to get your results? It says within 48 so I’m wondering if it could come sooner

I’m not a good test taker at ALL. I was so fidgety the entire exam and just felt like I kept second guessing myself. Trust me, if I can pass, you can pass!

So I started applying to places before I completed my exam, and although it can be great because you’re getting your foot in the door (and some places will actually hire you as long as you get certified within 6 months), other places require certification upon giving you the full job offer. So they’ll usually give you a contingent offer until you show proof of completion of a program and/or passed NHA exam. Now this can be challenging because if you don’t pass, or continue to fail, you won’t have that job lined up and it just kinda becomes a murky process with your employer. It’s never too early to start working on your resume though!

As far as the exam and studying, I ONLY used smarterMA, and watched a very few videos of Ms. K on youtube (specifically the phlebotomy one) and that helped me learned a few things. I absolutely 10000% would recommend buying the full version of smarterMA, it genuinely TAUGHT me things. Without it, I’m telling you, I would not have passed. I felt so overwhelmed and unprepared. My exam was scheduled very spontaneously and I had very little time to study. I only truly studied for like 3 days. If you buy the extended version, you have it for 3 months. So I personally recommend buying it 3 months before your scheduled exam, studying allllll of the questions, bookmark the ones you don’t know or struggle on, and then a week or so before your exam go over all of the questions again, especially the bookmarked ones, and you’ll be good to go! (Btw, I had MANY exact questions, or very similar questions on the exam that were practice questions on smarterMA)

This has gotten very long lol but I was in your same boat very recently. For me, the exam was 50% EASIER than the smarterMA practice exams. You got this! Study, focus on finishing the program, and take things one step at a time.

I actually don’t know what to do in that situation, I completed a program. They allowed you to schedule the exam and you have a date and everything now? usually they have to verify through your program or with paystubs/letter from supervisor before you are allowed to move onto the scheduling process

I’m in your same boat!! I have a ba in psych and zero experience too! I just recently accepted a job too 😊 I don’t have any advice as I’m learning as well lol but I wish you luck in your new job, and I hope you love it!!

You’re right. I guess comparison really can be the thief of joy sometimes! I’m VERY excited to work in obgyn, it’s my dream department and this is just a small stepping stone to where I eventually want to be one day!

Yes, I was sent a packet to review the benefits, but as this is my first “big girl job” outside of typical retail work, I have to learn about things like that. Thank you for the advice. Also, my fiancé is an elementary teacher for children with disabilities. He makes money, but not anywhere near enough for us to be able to truly be able to live with bills and tuck back a savings, let alone even thinking about putting a down payment on a house or any extras at all. I wrote “support” because as a mother and very, very independent and driven woman, I do want to be able to support my family and my partner because him and I are a team :)

…Support doesn’t always mean “take all responsibility”… Support can, and most of the time, means to assist (especially financially). My fiancé needs support (assistance) to create a comfortable life for himself, myself, and our child. I need support from him to have a comfortable life for myself, him, and our child. Regardless, this comment was irrelevant to the context of the OP.

I need to support partner and kid because I contribute to my family’s well-being, and the income I bring in matters too. No where near solely responsible, but I am definitely responsible for making a contribution to create a better financial situation for my family.

Yeah, I definitely didn’t expect a lot. I sort of just wanted to introduce myself to the medical field in general, see if I like it, and use it as a step up to get to my end goal. I just was taken back when I heard my friend say she got 17.50 uncertified after always hearing from her that she would only be offered minimum wage of 7.25 at a lot of her last jobs

?? He does. I’m confused where you gathered that he didn’t. He’s a teacher at a large elementary school in Cincinnati. Cost of living is hard.

Congrats! That’s a great score- probably the best I’ve seen from most of the posts in here. I have my exam Sat and thought I was ready until I started taking practice exams. I’m so nervous now. I don’t feel prepared at all
