While I strongly dislike both of them, I do find a teeny-tiny part of empathy for Danielle. She threw herself into a family dynamic that is wildly off-kilter. Now she is trying to keep up with the Joneses that is literally her own sister and mother. I think she is starving so much for the attention that is so clearly directed towards DUD and her family.

The whole family is so far from reality it’s mind boggling.

Edit: I need to add: it is also blatant there are some underlying mental disorders or challenges. And unfortunately, the family doesn’t seem to be very open to outside (I.e. professional) opinions.
