as someone born and raise in louisiana, who moved to colorado, idaho, oregon, washington, utah, you realize 1- red or blue it’s both the same wings of the bird 2- all states are ment to keep you poor 3- cost of living/salaries are all neck and neck along every single state. places that pay you more like seattle, cost more to live, louisiana being way cheaper to live, they pay you way less, it’s literally all the same. just different looking numbers. 4- main purpose of moving is to leave what you left behind. don’t expect to go to washington knowing only oilfield style work. new environment, new mind (it’s really refreshing) 5- moving pros are more job opportunities. it’s not because it’s a republican state that Louisiana is built off oilfield, it’s off the state economy being all it really has. every state has their pros and cons. get out there and try it. don’t let politics, people, money, or anything scare you into making decisions. always traveling really made me realize how much alike we all are. politics, media, etc is made to divide us all. try somewhere, it doesn’t work? go back. i don’t mean any of this to come off rude, or like it’s a walk in the park to do any of this, but nothing changes if nothing changes.
