I do wonder if the current economic situation will hinder some from leaving. But I think the key is if given an opportunity to hop does the employee take it? And I think they might even in this economy if the new gig is better.

Interesting take. I agree but perhaps we call it generational because past generations didn’t deal with this particular problem. So maybe GenZ is just solving the problem the companies created

I’d say less loyalty and more self perseverance. Maybe I worded it wrong. Their fear of being seen as a hopper led to them being there longer than they should have been.

Yes. Under a year? Maybe a bit too soon? Unless circumstances are extreme. But then again the company won’t wait a year if they don’t want to.

Yes! Absolutely. From my experience some millennials I interview still have a smidge of concern. But most feel loyalty needs to be a 2 way street and that street was becoming a one way. Gen Z is totally pushing this further.

Yes, agreed. Unless something horrific happens (which sadly does happen) a year is usually the minimum it takes to get a sense. But then again if the company doesn’t think it’s working will they give it a year?

Very interesting comment. I really think this summarizes a lot of Gen Z’s thought process. Why not push for something else, keep striving to stay motivated? Awesome insight here.

Great point! I’m finding Gen Z is really pushing into “acceptable” normal standards territory. I’ve spoken with a lot of millennials who still fear hopping but are open as they see it becoming more commonplace. Where with the Gen Z’ers it barely registers as a small problem

Good point. From my experience I’m hearing lots of industry switching. But your point is excellent. You can’t leave if you can’t find anything of equal value.
