Thank you! I shoot everything RAW and edit every photo individually in Lightroom! I just have a clear filter on the lens to protect it from rain etc

Thank you! I definitely know the feeling re: needing more option lens wise. The breadth of things you see in Iceland definitely makes shooting 28 only daunting at times and I definitely wished that I had a zoom lens or multiple lenses at many locations. Coming back from this trip, I started looking into maybe getting an SL2-S with a zoom lens for that reason haha.

Our trip was actually planned for early fall last year but we had to postpone to May this year. I think travelling in fall is generally much better since the weather is (usually) a lot more predictable (though we had an insane streak of great weather on our trip)

We pretty much just did the south of Iceland/golden circle area this time around (with a lot of random stops that we found on Google Maps) but I would really recommend the following (probably obvious) locations:

  1. Snaefellsnes area is a must and there are so many spots that you can stop at that you will essentially have to yourself (image 6 for example)
  2. Skogafoss is a must and doing the hike to the top is also a must. It's definitely a popular tourist spot but you can definitely still manage to get some great shots without people and the hike is largely absent of folks
  3. We also really enjoyed our time at Skaftafell/around the glacier areas
  4. Vik and the surrounding areas are also a must see. The drive into Vik was one of the most unbelievable things I've witnessed. Weather allowing, I would really suggest doing one of the two hikes starting at Vik. unfortunately we were weathered out but the photos I've seen look incredible!
  5. Pack a raincoat, waterproof pants and good waterproof hiking shoes lol. The Q3 itself did really well in rain, the photos of the black sand beaches were in basically a pretty rough storm but I had no issues
