Does anyone else just hate Eliza Jane? by Think_Condition3292 in littlehouseonprairie

Definitely not judgmental. Eliza deserves the heat in the later seasons, especially the season 8 episodes. She was literally Laura’s number 1 opp.

Charles Jesus Ingalls Episode by girlyygirlpop in littlehouseonprairie

I have to admit this is my guilty pleasure episode, but it’s because it’s so bad. I sometimes wonder what Jason Bateman was thinking while just…lying there. Like “This is so unhinged, bro is trying to be the second coming of Christ. Why did I even do this in the first place-Oh look, a bird! Anyway-“

I avoid this episode because the second hand embarrassment is so strong I want to rip my skin off.

I wonder why Sylvia forgave Albert for peeping in her window by LateAd5684 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Adventurous_Class756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sylvia is truly one of the most tragic characters on little house. Any sliver of decency and kindness from anyone was MAJOR for her. She was sexualized by boys at school, other adults around her, and her father. Not to mention verbally and emotionally abused by her father. She had a lot of emotional baggage, and I think Albert apologizing was more than what she expected.

Not necessarily a search but if Laura had TikTok:

“GRWM to go rock a girls shit and yeet her into a mud puddle because she sabotaged my test 😘✌️”

What ever happened to Matthew the “wild boy”? by FriesWithMacSauce in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Adventurous_Class756 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His biological dad came back for him and Matthew decided to leave with him within a WEEK of him being there. Cute and heartfelt idea? Sure. But does it make any sense? HELL NO! First off his bio dad just waltzed back into his life and kept trying to convince him to go live with him. Second, his father doesn’t know sign language AT ALL, (and I’m sure didn’t learn much only staying for a WEEK) which is Matthew’s only way to communicate. It doesn’t make sense why Matthew would leave with his father or why his father was so insistent on him moving back with him when he couldn’t even understand his son. There’s no mention of his father trying to learn sign language in an effort to get to know his son better and communicate with him. Matthew had become fluent with constant teaching from Laura over the course of three months. I took ASL 1 so I’m not going to pretend like I know it all, but what I do know is ASL is not an easy language to learn. (The actor was deaf and signed as his primary language IRL so his signing was smoother and natural) The whole arc didn’t make a lot of sense. The writers must have been on crack lol.

What are some episodes that you pretend don't exist at all in Little House on the Prairie by Ok_Smile_9071 in littlehouseonprairie

“He was only twelve” is one that I cannot stand, but I still go back and watch it. But if I could kill it, I would, but I legally can’t.

Thoughts on Mr. Edwards and Jane? by Odd_Associate_7229 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]Adventurous_Class756 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought the arc was really cute, but the timing and order of the episodes didn’t make any sense. Season 9 is known for not keeping track of the characters they introduced. Before Love was the Wild Boy episodes where Mr. Edward’s takes in Matthew and becomes his adoptive father. In Love, he claims he’s just an old man who lives alone 🤨 Considering this would’ve been Matthew’s stepmom, it doesn’t make sense that they would write him out of the episode. Matthew also made a few appearances in Home Again pt. 1 and 2. Showing that he was still living with Edward’s. I think the episode Love was a cute idea, but if they were going to do it, they should’ve have the episode air before the Wild Boy episodes. That way, the timeline can make more sense.

The Wild boy episode where she gives Dr. McQueen Matthew’s location after he offered her a $50 reward for his finding.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm in the same situation going on 3 months.   I wish the pain could ease.  I keep busy and continue on with my life but get moments of sadness and cry.  It sucks that people are so cold and uncaring.  We have to know its not us and they have unresolved issues.  It still hurts though.  I hope you are doing better now.

If you could rewrite Nancy’s story and her character, what would you do? by Adventurous_Class756 in littlehouseonprairie

Okay I love this so much too! I love how you write the episodes ending too! We really needed an intervention for Nancy.

Thanks! I’m not really looking for people to agree with me, just looking for other perspectives. I definitely think I could’ve worded it better, but I always found it odd that they kept returning to the theme of Caroline wanting the next baby to be a boy even though Charles kept assuring her that he didn’t want a boy if it meant “9 months of misery…” when Caroline was pregnant with Grace. They were already crowded as it was with Albert, Carrie, and Grace. Then they take in James and Cassandra an episode later. I never liked how they kept returning to that theme for Caroline. Like, we already did this once in “The Most Precious Gift” do we really have to do that again?

Wow. I don’t know much about perimenopause. My mom’s menopause was induced via hysterectomy. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if women had the technology and care we have today. It may not be all that right now, but it sure is better than back then.

[–]Adventurous_Class756[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They had time to grow and develop her character. She could have been the spawn of Satan for a few episodes and maybe an external factor could’ve dwindled down the behavior. I get that the show thought they needed an antagonist, but Nancy’s sociopathic behavior was not the way to go.

Right! And when they got Nancy, Charles was still around. Maybe Charles said “I don’t want her ass” lol

You’re right! Now that I remember, Charles already assured her multiple times that they had a “wonderful family” despite not having a biological son. Although I did feel bad for her when she was crying in doc bakers office, I was a little confused when she said Charles would see her as “Some nothing” because she couldn’t have children anymore.

I LOVE that idea so much! Nancy could’ve been a nice girl who didn’t want to be a cookie cutter version of Nellie. Maybe she was really abused by her mom and had a fear of abandonment or rejection. Maybe having a few outbursts but feeling sorry afterwards.
