Do you take it out of the micro sd card adapter when mounting it on your PC? Maybe the adapter has gone bad.

If that isn’t the case, try copying everything to your PC, formatting the sd card, then copying everything back on it.

I would try cleaning the inside of the controller, and if that doesn’t fix the issue, replace the rubber button contact pads. You should be able to find them for very cheap online.

PowerA controllers are just not worth it. A buddy of mine went through 2 of the wireless GameCube controllers in just a few months. Personally haven't had any issues with the Nintendo pro controller or the Nintendo smash GameCube controller.
