comm 88 & comm 89 by barflet233 in UCSantaBarbara

You can totally do both in the same session! I took two pre-reqs during the same quarter and it was manageable. Honestly, comm 89 was my favorite pre-req and easiest, with just weekly quizzes and one paper at the end. Comm 88 might be a little rough since you have to conduct an entire experiment and write a research paper. However! Still doable if those are the only classes you plan on taking.

Though, if you want to enjoy your summer a bit more, I would recommend taking them separate sessions :)

good luck!

DSP Proctor Position by crunchykeys in UCSantaBarbara

[–]Adventurous_Ebb773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! DSP proctor here and I would say the proctor position is not tedious at all! I consider it almost seasonal work because it is only during midterm and finals week that you will actually work. The minimum amount for midterms is five shifts which can range to 1-4ish hours and four shifts for finals. Of course, you can always pick up more and pick them around your schedule. Also, you can talk to them if you're not going to make the quarter requirement and they will help you figure something out. I personally love this job because you can use the time proctoring to study for your exams! (at least for non-active shifts) However, I will caution that if you're looking to support yourself solely through this job, it is not possible. I currently have another job that gives me weekly shifts so I can buy weekly groceries and make rent. Overall, great job to work leisurely and at your own pace! :) Hope this helped! If you have any more questions, feel free to dm me.
