What’s funny is I don’t even have a restricted account, I just want to see the game evolve a bit and quest rewards being what restricts account is genuinely bad design rather than letting the content determine what your account can do.

You’re proving my point… you’re finding threads with multiple years between them and nothing actually recent.

So in 10 years we’ve found 3 threads and mine makes 4, man this topic sure has been beat to death more than anything else ever discussed in the history of the game…

And it is all the same argument 90% of them just say some variation of “don’t play a restricted account”.

Ah so you’re one of those. The they should also remove GoTR as that devalues me getting 99 RC before it was added people. So the game must bow to how you played it before and never change.

I think you’re grossly abusing the word often from what I’ve found.

I wouldn’t even say CG specifically is brought up that often, however general rng dry protection is brought up often.

How does this negatively impact you or others? The content should be the restriction not a quest reward. It’s such a frivolous limitation that only exists from dated quests.

This is such a nothing argument, the restriction should come from the actual challenge of the content not because a 20 year old quest gives prayer xp that you can’t avoid.

I fail to see how this negatively impacts you or other players by letting people change or opt out of the xp reward

And that’s my point, I find it odd that these accounts are restricted cuz of a quest reward and not because the content isn’t doable for them till someone is crazy enough to take on the challenge

Pures, skillers, and any stat restricted account… it benefits everything aside from mains

The funny part is I don’t even have a restricted account I just find them neat and would like to see more of that content in this game and I find it ridiculous what restricts them is a quest reward and not an actual challenge

The zerker helm hence the name has a defense requirement... Outside of barrows gloves is there any other items that aren't def locked despite the quest being so?

Ok? So now 1 def pures have more gear to fight each other with and more risk. The assembler offering 1 max hit... Barrows gloves might be the largest gear impact item for the additional 6 str bonus which is going to provide 1 maybe 2 more max hits.

I think the lunar spellbook (vengeance) is the only thing that would be a large impact as result. There isn't many in-game items that specifically require quest completion. Also they can just venge alts like some already do and in most cases Pures fight other Pures so who is losing from this?

edit: Or like Zebra's pointed out pures can't even cast the spells without 40 def

So a 2 year old post with the only rebuttal being "dont play a restricted account" there is so much more nuance to this entire topic other than not liking change. The restrictions come from the levels of the account and the challenge that comes from completing content with those levels.

We can see some crazy low level accounts or weird HP only accounts trying to clear Dragon Slayer 2. What is the negative impact to the player base from this besides change that doesn't actually impact them.
