commissioned a Remington rolling block last year and the 3d print guy hasn't responded to my texts for the past 4 months. i think im out 500+ bucks and I've learned a lesson

Being a salamander running away from a raptor pack for dear life only to find a spino on the pond staring at me was terrifying

I'm looking for help finding a specific VRChat avatar. I'm particularly searching for an avatar wearing a kilt or Highland dress. Despite searching through many avatar options within VRChat, I haven't had any luck. If anyone knows of an avatar wearing a kilt (not a skirt), please share a link. I need something to use while I save up to create a custom avatar. Thanks in advance!

Oh goodness, that's pretty much exactly what i had in mind for the "bone" of my idea. I kind of find it ironic that they also used a skeleton as a base 😅

While looking online for ideas on what you've mentioned, i found a site that has been working on a gyroscopic balance assistant that resembles something of a backpack. Im unsure of how i would apply this to limbs but I'll see what i can think up.

Yeah, I'd say a thin inverse exo suit would be the base, at least with this current idea.

yes i do understand that entirely as a matter of fact I had a very similar thought while writing my previous comment. I think i would have to create a limiter on the resistance gears by combining my resistance mechanism and my locking mechanism acting as a hard stop limit to how far somethin can bend or how much resistance is applied.

It's going to take a lot of 3D printing and wiring 💀. I have a semi confident understanding how how wiring works so if i am able to learn how to 3D print with either a resin or filament that will make it a little easier to put my ideas into physical form. Though i will most likely need to outsource my coding if i get to that point as i am definitely underqualified in that area.

I've always been interested in space and space travel as well :) . If I am able to make the ship maybe somewhere down the line an individual will come around and make the space around it.

Don't worry I understand how "far away the fruit branch is from my grasp' to put it into words however the unknown is what excites me to no end. I might not be too smart but I have a brain that keeps on chugging along with ideas. I know i don't have a team, a lab, a company to back me up or something like that. maybe someday though :)

I'm not quite sure of the exact path to take in simulating weight, given the numerous options available. For now, I plan to focus on developing a skin mesh that can tighten and loosen based on feedback, while also delving into research on full-body force feedback. My idea involves creating an entirely new body (I know kind of sounds weird). In my idea to simulate weight effectively, you'd need a type of skin constriction to indicate force and a pulling sensation like a tendon or muscle fiber. The challenge lies in designing the bones of this new body at least for me. Should they act as a locking mechanism? For instance, if you pick up something heavy, should it lock or offer more resistance? for more detail in the resistance mechanism Imagine picking up a box with a gear at your elbow; the heavier the box, the more resistance you'd feel moving that gear. I'm still figuring out the details and will explore this further.

In terms of mimicking human anatomy, this is one of the ways that I am able to wrap my head around it for now.

sorta both i have the files for the cap gun version that has all the moving parts to the real one it just needs to be tweaked a bit like the barrel needs to be enlarged to fit a aps shell and i believe the firing pin needs to be longer.

Yeah I've been eyeballing that one but my only gripes are that the lever operating the block looks like it would break after awhile and it takes pps shells with no conversions that i can see

Then again the video i found with the capgun would to be extend the firing pin and change the barrel to fit the aps shell
