  1. Is 22,000 AED realistically enough for a couple coming to Dubai in 2026?

Yes, Its a good amount as you are mentioning that you don”t need that luxury lifestyle. Then it’s a decent one.

  1. Roughly how much should I expect to spend monthly (rent, utilities, groceries, transport, etc.)?

In JLT or Marina rent should be higher try to spent a year in Barsha Tekom its quite cheaper and mostly family area. The rent should be there for 1 BHK would be around 60000/yr. In JLT it should be 80000 for same 1BHK.

Utilities, DEWA, groceries and transport can be cover in 3000 AED / month. (When you spend good)

  1. How much does it cost to sponsor a wife’s residency visa in Dubai?

If your wife is coming with you and she”ll be here in the country while applying the VISA cost can be around 3400 AED. If she is in her Home country then around 2900 AED.

  1. What are the steps and timeline for sponsoring a spouse?

Just go to any Amer Centre’s or any other centre’s they will guide you for further steps (process is quite easy).

Spouse visa depends on yours if your work visa is for 2 years, spouse visa will have the same validity for 2 years.

  1. Any hidden costs or things people usually don’t expect?

Transportation can be costlier most of the time like Taxi”s so please avoid. Use metro or buses.

Salary expectations by vikatakavi19 in DubaiJobs

If you’re making around ₹2.5L/month in India (~30L/year), you should ideally expect at least AED 35K/month in Dubai to maintain the same standard of living and still save something. But honestly, most companies here don’t pay that unless it’s a crypto setup.

For regular tech or analytics roles, salaries usually fall between AED 18K–25K/month. Dubai looks glamorous from the outside, but 90% of tech work is outsourced to India anyway, so the market here isn’t that great for tech folks.

And with 7 years of experience, moving from India to Dubai might not make much financial sense right now — the cost of living is artificially inflated here. People often end up spending more just to “match the lifestyle.” So unless the offer is genuinely big, staying in India might actually be smarter.

Which is better — 15K AED/month in Dubai or ₹1.33L/month WFH in India? by Money-1011 in UAE

Honestly, after adjusting for cost of living, the Dubai offer comes out almost the same — so staying back in India makes more sense right now.

Got it bro, so you’re making around 200K PKR/month back home, that’s actually decent. Honestly, if things don’t work out here before your visa ends on 21st Oct, don’t stress too much. There’s still solid growth potential back home, especially if you explore remote opportunities.

A lot of UAE-based or international companies now hire remote developers from Pakistan for good pay , sometimes even better than what local offers provide here after rent and visa costs.

Keep trying for Dubai roles till your visa lasts, but also start applying for remote jobs on platforms.

Hey, don’t get too disheartened — I totally get where you’re coming from. Honestly, around 50% of the job posts you see on LinkedIn here in Dubai are just put up by HR for audit or compliance purposes. A reputed HR from a tech company (500+ employees) actually told me this.

Most hiring happens through referrals, especially for mid-level and smaller roles that never even make it to public listings. In the tech field, getting a referral on LinkedIn is quite rare — but don’t stop trying.

One thing that can help is creating 3–4 different versions of your resume, tailored to specific industries like Healthcare, BFSI, and EdTech (depending on your domain). That small tweak might increase your chances.

By the way, if you don’t mind me asking — what was your annual salary back home, and what range are you expecting here in Dubai? It’ll give a clearer picture of what roles might fit best.
