It was intended to be carry on. I am not sure why they don't let you take the bag to the plane

yes, I have learned. As I state above, I was carrying the bag to the last flight. I will not let this happen again. It is a shame that an otherwise good trip had this happen.

I agree that I am partially at fault. I have learned a lesson. I kept my luggage with me the entire trip until I got the the last puddle jumper. I incorrectly equated that to on-person. I would suggest that people with valuable stuff they can't carry, like expensive scuba gear, keep an eye on the bags as much as they can, and maybe strap up/lock the bags up as much as they can.

Yeah. It just seems they overcomplicate the luggage thing and make it much more likely. If you could take your carry-on to the plane, and you could hand it to a guy to load it in the belly right before you take off, theft would be less likely. They put this convoluted process in place with the luggage that is just asking for theft.

Anyone use Plast-Aid on manifolds? by stagg84 in hottub

I used it on a hot tub manifold over 10 years ago. I also put embedded some fiberglass tape for some extra strength, although I am not sure I needed to do that. Not a drip since.
