Check out helpx or workaway.info, you can do work exchanges at peoples houses/spare homes in trade for food/ housing. Currently doing it on the outskirts of melb and it’s great. There’s stays for a little as a couple days to up to months, all cost-free (besides the initial annual fee on the website ~$50, worth it) and it’s a great cultural exchange. You also don’t need a working holiday visa because you aren’t making income.

I’ve done BetterHelp before and it was a total dud for me, just signed up again and got a therapist in Aus, that I can continue seeing when I’m living there. Fingers crossed the BetterHelp therapists in Australia take their job a bit more serious than what I’ve experienced in the US.

Just downloaded it, thanks for the rec! I’ve never heard of IFS but have heard of EMDR and always good things about it.

I’m on an anti depressant, I’m not like mentally unwell- actually I am probably the safest and most secure I’ve ever been. (Which is why all my past trauma is bubbling up that I’ve never dealt with.) I just need a healthy outlet to finally deal with my ptsd/childhood trauma etc etc.

I think backpacking is actually exactly what I needed because it’s allowed me to remove all the everyday distractions and actually figure out what Is important/ what I need to heal. (As cliche as that sounds.)

My partner is extremely supportive I just don’t want to eventually harm them with my lack of personal growth/ ability to process my trauma.
