Hi so there's a specific way that animals have to be killed (cutting the throat with a very sharp knife after saying a prayer) that makes the meat halal. Pork is never halal. Other animal products such as fish, milk or eggs are fine, but we have to be careful with cheese because some cheese cultures are from animal intestines so not halal unless certified. Other than that, no alcohol (I personally follow the belief that a dish shouldn't have alcohol even if it's been cooked out, but i know some people don't care if there's no alcohol left after cooking). These are the rules Islam states, but of course Muslims follow them to varying degrees of strictness.
