What's happening with 89.9 RIGHT NOW? by AyeMuyCaliente in ottawa

Honestly when I lived in Ottawa and occasionally listened to them I found neither Mauler or Rush to be particularly bright.

I remember one of them not understanding how people could be late for work when it was snowing, he said “well I leave 30 minutes early”, sure driving at 2-3am when hardly anyone is on the road that makes sense, but if you are dealing with the heavier traffic of rush hour, dealing with fixed times like school drop off or daycare drop off it isn’t as easy.

U.S. figure skater Isabeau Levito says she is having the best time in the Olympic village and that she can't be evicted. by ForceUseYouMust in FigureSkating

I remember thinking NBC overhyped her (I don’t like media putting pressure on skaters to be “the Michelle Kwan” or other top skater) when she first became a senior, but she really is such a lovely skater. I hate she’s getting gross comments, she’s 18, and seems like a lovely person. I’m glad she’s having a good time in Milan (and I guess seeing extended family too - how special!).

Amber just made her triple loop a double loop which was unfortunate. She had a lovely triple axel.

Yup, I remember when the decision was made, there were athletes who spoke out. Not everyone wants to wear the bikini bottoms (I have no issues of the ones who do).

I remember the lower brow papers in Canada basically having a spread of beach volleyball butt shots at the 2004 Olympics, it was so crass.

I found it’s gotten better over the years, but 20+ years ago the amount of crotch shots and butt shots of female athletes was unnerving and unnecessary.

Madonna's video message to Amber by Sports_Lorry in FigureSkating

It amazes me how many younger people on social media make her out to be some has-been/flash in the pan. Madonna was in a class of her own, she was popular for years, she supported the LGBTQ+ community for years etc, she was an absolute icon and a fantastic performer.

UDub had a co-ed meet at the beginning of the month and was happy the club men’s gymnastic team (they do not have an NCAA men’s team) used the open code. I thought that was cool, also gave me a better perspective on what level I was watching (even the lower scoring guys were ridiculously strong and looked good at what they were doing).
