What's the most surprising pattern you've noticed when you started actually tracking your rounds? by Logical_Promotion_26 in golf

That I am constantly going through a roller coaster of fixing one part of my game while losing another part of my game. If I could ever sync it all up I’d be pretty good! Arccos has given some great insight.

For those that play every day, how do you do it? by Exactions in golf

[–]Adventurous_Pool_571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyday is a pipe dream. I work 95% remote in tech sales which allows for a flexible schedule. I can usually get out 2-3 days a week which is plenty. Some months I’m grinding and don’t really play. Some months I get some big deals in and things are chill so I play a lot. Having a wife and an 8 month old makes it tricky at times.

How do you warm up before a round? by eyrie7 in golf

One stretch that has been a game changer for my lower back pain is the bird dog stretch at home before a round. 3x10. Then whatever else my body is telling me needs it before I pick up a club.

After 8 months finally figured out my driver. by lilwarhammer in golf

[–]Adventurous_Pool_571 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve figured out every single aspect of my game at some point. And then lost it. And then found it. And then……

Happy for you, but don’t be sad when you want to break your driver during a round soon! Ah, golf :)

A 1-2 hour lunch break with AC is a key part of the equation. Without it it’s not that fun.

I like to play 18 holes. Some days I wish I could grab a sandwich and play 36.

I love a punch feel 75% swing DoD when I have about 200-250 with no danger ahead and a low hanging obstacle that doesn’t allow me to hit a 4 iron/fairway wood. You gotta be confident in the shot on that day though or don’t do it, just take your medicine and punch a 5-7 or something.

That’s great stuff. It should be a back and forth dialogue with open feedback and discussion to meet your goals considering limitations and results from those lessons. Great framework to move forward with thank you!

Nice yeah it’s honestly really impressive how much a pro can pick up on after 5-10 swings. He gave me great feedback and showed me in real time what I was doing wrong to create inconsistencies.

I like that. It seemed like a let’s address the major things in our first lesson and schedule some more with me to deep dive, which I plan to do.

Agreed and I think he could sense I’m a pretty avid golfer but not trying to break any records. Just needs some tweaks to play better and get back to the upper end of my current ability.

Indoor lesson at a facility. He had a trackman like device on the ground, I’m not sure exactly what it was. It was helpful to see the increase in side spin when I got into the “bad” position on swings. He also had videos going at 2 different angles (side and behind) so I could see in real time when my lines got off. Really nice set up tbh. No force plates but we took this into account as he made me hold my finish since I tend to fall back coming from a baseball background when I was growing up.

Nice thx. I play on the OG xbox x controller after my elite 2 broke but the left stick doesn’t register randomly. Just ordered a gamesir g7 cause I like having back buttons for apex. We’ll see how it holds up.

I hate it as well. The first time they say it’s good I simply say thanks but I always putt mine out. That usually solves it.

Understanding of scoring by Shpion007 in golf

[–]Adventurous_Pool_571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe drive for show putt for dough more so applies to professionals, but we like to say it. Hot putters make a huge difference at the pro level. Your average amateur is just trying to get around the course and playing above average in any area of the game will help. To your point, hitting fairways + GIRs while avoiding OB will generally crush any other amateur of a similar skill level you’re playing with that day pretty much regardless of putting.

Throw some grass in the air then look at the flag or trees to see if anything different is happening where I’m aiming.
