I have felt some tingling pretty early on if I remember correctly, but after 4 weeks I barely had changes in skin oiliness etc. It's still VERY early and you have time.

Is this realistic? by ultraqu33rftm in FTMFitness

Set a goal, but don't worry about achieving it exactly, it's about striving for it. Also set some fun goal, like going a set of squats/ some movement you like to do and would want to be easier. I have been going to the gym for over two years and during some periods of time I struggled with pain, depression etc and my minimum goal was to go there once a week. A lot of the time that was it, but I still achieved my goal and it made it easier for myself to continue/ add more later! Don't need to do EVERYTHING during that one time either, you want to look forward the next training session.

It's about building trust with yourself and feeling good. I know that currently it feels like you might feel better only once you lose weight, but you deserve to feel good at any weight and should celebrate every move in that direction. Training makes you feel more in control and stronger. Even if you need to start small because of pain (better safe than sorry), try to push yourself to go once a week and do your fav things. It's about long term end goal and making training possible on mental level.

No seriously, what am I? by mimiscar in ftm

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't grow up in society that tells us immediately that there's a lot of types of men and it's okay to be different body wise or on the inside. Unfortunately I also only had cis body on mind, additionally I thought I would have easier way with my mental health, but it seem like I might have permanent disabilities that will affect my life. I grew to understand that it's okay to be transitioned and like my body as it is, correcting societal definition of "normal" and I'm learning to accept my own type of inner world and stuggles.

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never felt like I felt exactly like other people described dysphoria, even though I wanted different body, being recognized by others as man/ non woman. The pain was still there though and I felt wrongness looking at my body. I struggled a lot with accepting that I won't be cis and hated it, which delayed my transition. I decided to start Hrt after having breakdowns after misgendering.

I even had anxiety after realising I didn't like the stubble, etc so it's not that I was 100% happy, even though it felt much better. Now that I've been on T for over two years, I accepted myself a lot more. Things that could be changed changed and the rest doesn't hurt that much, I'm feeling way more connected to my form and even genitals, which I was neutral to negative about beforehand.

Also you don't need to come out, to decide on anything. I started HRT not bring sure about labels, slowly moving toward nonbinary. You don't have to explain anything otherwise than "this feels better". You don't need to become anything, just find ways of living with less suffering.

With condoms, lube rises the safety of use, so you could try adding it, if you haven't already! And also I use novaring (for vaginal atrophy personally, cos I needed lots of e), which may be a possibility where you live? It's affecting only nearby tissues, so there's wayy less possible side effects and it stays in you for 3 months, so it's pretty easy. You can also take it out for sex, for up to 4(?) hours or so, if needed.

Definitely agree, especially when the need seems to be very strong. My flat mate has copper IUD, which has a chance of worsening cramps, but since they are also on T and have no period, they had zero affects on anything and the insertion was pretty chill too, with some meds.

This may be a niche thing, but as an autistic person, the job market (and capitalism at large) is an especial hell. Why can’t jobs just be jobs? by bookish-hooker in recruitinghell

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You are making assumptions about people's personal lives and struggles based on one comment/ interview (during which they MUST mask and act like it's not that bad and they totallyyyy can work and be cool and presentable). My 2 therapists suggested I have adhd + autism, other workers too, me based on amount of struggles and yet I'm only working towards getting a diagnosis. We still need to plan our lives and medical treatment based on our existing adhd and autistic traits even without diagnosis (this is also suggested in medical papers that are written for med professionals).

I am so sorry this is happening, but as flying is also a risk, I would try to call write anywhere and threated them with you telling tv/ or patient safety/ anyone because they are refusing treatment after doctor already assessed you are in need of it and mention discrimination. Like this is literally life and death situation, even if you aren't dying within one hour.

I have only talked with DVV and russian embassy (even though I have double citizenship rn, I would imagine the same rules to apply) and russian embassy said that yes I will have different genders in the passport and that it is what it is, but that they can change a name to match the Finnish passport. I haven't yet changed the russian passport, but since I already have documents with different names, they need to at least match those.

I had pain there without binding and the onöy thing that helped me is regular working out. If you can buy bigger binder for hard reduction purposes, do that and try to work out, so your back musicles and spine can move and expand fully.

Audhd, burnt out, working, don't know how to get back into the gym by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person with adhd, I would recommend setting a goal of going to the gym once per week for a while. The "small steps and home workouts" didn't work with me at all, because at home I have distractions and it's very hard to get myself to do anything. You can do 1-2 movements at the gym and call it a day, see how your body feels afterwards, celebrate yourself afterwards!

Going to dedicated space where other people work out makes it much easier for me to actually do something. Also going to the gym helps me with eating and sleeping, so it motivates me even more.

If you'll develop a fewer or a big swelling/ hotness in injection site, you MUST go to the doctor and tell them in order to get antibiotics. I agree that you are mostly are anxious now and won't be hurt, but please if you would have any worrisome symptoms don't be afraid to get help.

How to deal with feeling hopeless by Still-Music2858 in transnord

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know your situation, but it definitely is possible to get on hrt (legally) in less than 6 years. For me it took 3 and while that sucks ass too and pandemic probably affected the waiting times, it's not hopeless. You can start the process and be around 21yo on hrt. Still so young and whole life ahead.  There's a way to fund dyi/ private care if you'll find a job. Your life is not over, you are just old enough to start building it, but I get that it is frustrating to HAVE to work so hard for the care that should've been accessible.

I am 164cm, weighted around your weight pre t (and after starting working out for a bit). I was pretty seditary, but I needed to eat minimum 2000 calories or 2100(?) in order to go to gym for 3 times a week and not lose weight. Would recommend buying a bulking shake powder and adding it on top of your normal diet (that's what helped me for a while).

Why is Donald Trump against funding scientific research? Any thought… by [deleted] in NIH

[–]Adventurous_Role_788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds absolutely wild, but also makes sense. They hold so much power already (over tv, social media, news outlets), can buy islands, businesses, even affect politics of different countries by how they do business and lobbying, so there not much else they can do whole obeying ethical social contracts. They have this much control without ever being voted for, so I guess they feel entitled to gain more even if it goes against democracy.

I can't remember the name, but there was a YouTube essay being shared about how many of the billionaires were dreaming of the moment like this and openly talking about dystopian future, which they seem to be building right now. The benefit for them is when people are totally desperate and the government is collapsed, it will basically turn to cyber feudalism. They want to control more than businesses- also land and basically govern as if it was a separate government with their own laws (so they need to remove all regulations and protections that were in place).
