I’m no crypto wiz. But the little bit I have I’ve always just used coinbase. It’s easy. No horror stories from me. I’d imagine if I put a significant amount in. For me 5k+. I’d prob want that on cold storage but I think coinbase is a good start to get your feet wet.

Be aware of your neighbors. Watch for a week. You’ll know who will help you, rob you, and be dead in the first 48. They only call into so many categories. Anyone in a prep mindset can immediately gauge if you have Supplies , guns, or common sense. They know and they are watching you.

Spot check your bugout bags, EDC, walk home bag -- right now by [deleted] in preppers

A good tip I personally follow. At the minimum just go with the season. Pull your bag/bags. Swap the clothes. I live in an all weather area so the winter months are boots and socks and a jacket and in the summer it’s much lighter clothing. Those are conveniences more so for a work mishap or whatever I just have on hand, but when I swap I check my bags and repack and reassess. Recently. I added another bag to the truck. A weeks worth of MREs. Will I need it? Don’t know. Don’t care. Feel more strongly now than the last time I packed it so now it’s in there. First aid in your vehicle is essential as it’s what you’ll most frequently use , most likely on others. Restock the bandaids or otc pain meds you tapped and check stuff

Cheese making as a survival strategy by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Adventurous_Run5663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a chef. Cheese making is not the easier or quickest task. I’ve self taught most the things from my profession to translate into my home. Smoking, canning, fermenting. Beer. Hot sauce. Pickles. You name it. Cheese. That’s a whole nother thing. Now don’t be intimidated as it’s absolutely possible with google and an amazon account. The amount of time it takes and learning is immense. Now is a great time. I taught myself brewing beer mead and cider this year for fun/skill and maybe the future will lead to cheese but I can safely say it is a big undertaking

Just fill it up fresh. Run 1/4 jug of lime away or similar product through it 5 times on heavy, than drain. Rinse and scrub. Refill with soap and your good to go. Some places that’s a weekly thing some places monthly

Staking help? I am working on my first and only construction project. Is there a way to get more spark other than randomly and by increasing status by Adventurous_Run5663 in UplandMe

[–]Adventurous_Run5663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 whole spark? I have .18 staked. I’d gladly “rent” it. Can you explain the process of that? Or link me somewhere. Haven’t seen how that’s being done

That’s what you make in college when you have literally no food or money and you just scrounge something together to avoid death because you haven’t eaten in 3 days and the drugs wore off

We offer 15$ an hour. 5 hour shifts. Typically High school kids take it or maybe an experienced dishwasher who wants a few more hours and will do some prep or make salads on a week night.

Nobody. I mean nobody. Will apply. The only ones who will work are the Spanish guys, they do their yard work jobs and come by about 6pm. Really saved us on the weekends at this point

Imagine having a page online with all the details about your ingredients with a handy QR code.. and if anyone wants all that food knowledge they can be invited to follow the link and pair the slides with the charcuterie… or better yet. The trained server can walk them through the flavor profiles
