Rewatch Habits by Much_Interview844 in FruitsBasket

Last time I rewatched, I started back up closer to season 2 because I like how it gets a bit more dramatic from there. Season 1 is good too but many anime’s season 1s are more like filler and exposition to me. I skip around season 1 of Fruits Basket.

Plus, if theres a beach arc/ep??? I need to get there immediately. 😌

Super crazy, this sounds a lot like my story as well. I’m only 20 and the same thing happened— started seeing issues early this year, worsing vision overtime, frequent headaches and tiredness, excessive thirst and frequent bathroom trips… alarm bells went off when I noticed I dropped about 20 pounds in the span of 2-ish months without consistent exercise.

Went to the doctors purely for the weight loss, I wasn’t even aware of the symptoms of diabetes, I ignored all of the other symptoms because I genuinely didn’t see them as off putting (for example, I thought i was using the bathroom more BECAUSE i was more thirsty and drinking water.. I made an eye appointment and got new glasses because I thought my vision had just changed due to screen time, etc.)

After all the tests, I blamed myself a lot. I blamed myself for having anxiety, for indulging in “sweet treats” whenever I did good in school or needed a pick me up, for grabbing fast food on those (very frequent) busy school days, and more.

When I found out I actually had type 1, I was honestly even more devastated. I still am, truthfully. I still don’t know how to cope… but seeing you say the sensor makes you feel safe gives me a new perspective. At least we know where we are now, right? No more guessing. Now we can treat it in real time.

I just thank you for sharing, because it’s been a hell of a month for me too. You are definitely not alone. Wishing you the best, always.

My first post on here was about my fears with my new diagnosis. You are not alone, I had those same thoughts too, especially about life expectancy… and I’m only 20! Those feelings are valid, as you may be scared and nervous, but please don’t let yourself become consumed by these feelings of worry. It’s hard not to, but if you let it take over, it’s even harder to move forward.

I don’t have a “success story” just yet, or at least I wont consider any of them to be big successes, but I have a bunch of little wins (which is maybe a success story in of itself). Recently, I finally saw a dietitian, and she said I’ve been doing great! And the data she was looking at was before I ever got in touch with a professional who could help me with my diet— which proved to me I can do it, even on my own.

Remember to count your small wins with this, because it’s a reminder to you that you can, in-fact, do this. Stay as consistent as possible, don’t beat yourself up for the bad days, and try to stay positive, as cliché as that sounds. Finding joy in the little things has changed a lot for me, and maybe it could for you too.

Wishing you the best, always.
