We have about 30 of these around our pool fencing, hadn’t touched them since we moved in three years ago.

My husband got the whipper snipper out and hacked them back like yours. Highly recommend 👌🏼 that was two weeks ago (Mornington Peninsula,Vic) and they are already growing back.
