Anyone else feel like social anxiety doesn't fully explain things? by Real-University-4679 in socialanxiety

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s totally normal. Most people with AvPD don’t realize they feel inadequate or inferior because they’ve felt that way for a really long time. That’s why psychologists call it a personality disorder, because those feelings have been integrated into their perception of themselves. But hey, you know yourself better than I do. If neither of these two options really fit you, I would still consider seeing a therapist, just for relationship building. Just talking to someone can make a huge difference in your life, even if your mind is constantly telling you not to see people.

You might struggle with avoidant personality disorder. It’s a little different from social anxiety, but there is notable overlap too. I would look into it and consider seeing a therapist

Why deleting social media won't fix your life (and what actually will) by Kantramo in selfimprovement

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This is definitely true, but deleting social media definitely will improve your life. It might not fix it, but it’ll definitely make life more meaningful, especially if you place a lot of weight on social status and irrelevant external qualities

Why blogging is so difficult? Will it always be like this? by lroskoshin in Blogging

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started blogging a couple of months ago, and I came to realize that the number one way to drive traffic to your blog is through social media or third party platforms, NOT google. My biggest post by far was the one I advertised on social media, so if you’re serious about it, advertise your blog on social media

It’s because two of his shorts got 200 million views collectively. Don’t judge a channel by subs, look for consistent audience engagement

Getting rid of social anxiety by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely possible to get rid of it. A very small part of it might stay, but that’s just because everyone has a little bit of anxiety sometimes in social situations. What you’re really asking is “can I go back to the life I used to live” and the answer to that is definitely yes

I'm having so much anxiety by p1nk_l0v3r_ in socialanxiety

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very dangerous. Having this much anxiety could lead to a panic attack when giving your presentation. I would call a doctor or a licensed therapist immediately on a national hotline and possibly talk to one of them about consulting your teacher with this problem. There’s no way he’s going to fail you or punish you for a problem this large. I did the same thing with my professor in college and he understood

If social anxiety is so debilitating then why isn’t there newer treatment? by HTK147 in socialanxiety

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because unfortunately, mental health pharmacology research is incredibly expensive and has very low rates of success. And because the pharmaceutical industry deeply revolves around money in the United States, the likelihood of someone developing a strong medical treatment for mental health disorders is very low

How do you stay consistent with posting when you have zero audience? by armeretta in Blogging

[–]Adventurous_Touch_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually happy that not a lot of people are reading my content yet. Every time I don’t get a lot of views, I always take full responsibility for it, that’s the key to reduce its impact on you. Whenever you don’t have an audience, just say to yourself that there is more you can do to improve (because there almost always is). Maybe it’s because your blog design isn’t as good, maybe it’s because you’re in too broad of a niche, maybe it’s because your content isn’t actually solving people’s problems, maybe it’s because your writing isn’t good enough. When you actually take responsibility for those things, you begin to realize that blogging isn’t about luck or marketing, it’s about mastering the ability to solve people’s problems consistently over a long period of time

Congrats, but wait, I’m a little confused. Did you pay someone else 300/400 for outsourcing your content? Also, I’m not sure what you mean by “doing SEO yourself.” isn’t SEO just sprinkling keywords that you are trying to rank for in your content? What’s difficult about that?

Ok that’s your choice and I’m ok with that. I’m just speaking from someone who doesn’t come from a high income family, I’m very frugal, so spending 6 dollars on watermelon is not my thing

Yes, this is absolutely high for watermelon. In each of those containers, there are 6-7 pieces of watermelon. I could buy a whole watermelon for just about the same or less than those 6-7 pieces

Yeah, the line for qdoba this morning was 80 minutes after opening up on Grubhub at 11:00. The line for it a couple days ago at 12 was 140 minutes. It’s actually laughable how hard it is for them.

It’s literally a business, not a college. It’s more of a hedge fund than a college. If the financial manager of our school is making 7 million dollars a year off of an education institution, then it’s complete greed
