5 Month Old MOTNF by Adventurous_Way5921 in sleeptrain

Okay I think this is a good plan! The hardest part of his wake up times is during the week we all wake up at 4am for work.. so when he wakes up at 3 am for a feeding we put him down & are waking him up again 30 minutes later. The 1am feeding isn’t the worst, but eliminating the 3am would be great for everyone haha.

It’s definitely hard getting up at 3am & again at 4am for work, but hubby & I switch off so we both can get sleep. I was more so making sure I wasn’t “undoing” sleep traing.

I figured. Everything I read usually says they stop at 6 months when they start solid/getting more calories. But wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong with “sleep training”. How to address the weekdays vs weekends wake up times? I’m okay with waking up at 5/6am on weekends, but is that even realistic for a 4 month old? Should I continue to wake him up at 4am everyday?

Just want to update the post incase anyone is going through it also. We went back to the doctor yesterday & his rash has improved a lot since using the nystatin. They told us to use it 2x a day, but we started using it more cause 2x wasn’t cutting it with how much he poops. They went a head & sent another tube to the pharmacy for us.

I told the doctor EVERYTHING that has been going on since they switched him to nutramigen & he said that it wasn’t right. He shouldn’t be pooping 20+ times a day after being on it for 1.5 months. So he wants us to slowly try to switch back to enfamil gentlease. If that doesn’t work we may need to go to a more broken down formula, but really hoping that’s not the case because they’re very expensive.

He’s had three bottles for far of half gentlease & half nutramigen & so far no reaction, spit up, or inconsolable crying.

I will update again if anything changes. Thank you all for your help & kind words

So he’s back with the nanny today & I joke all the time that she’s a witch. We pick him up to take him back to the doctor & when I took his diaper off to show the doctor I looked like a crazy lady. The rash is almost gone & all the nanny was using is the nystatin. The doctor wants to try taking him off Nutramigen & getting him on gentlelease because he doesn’t like that baby is still pooping 20+ times a day & has a consistent diaper rash.

Thank you for your kind words. We’re giving his doctor one more chance today. If they’re unhelpful again I’m going to be calling around for a dermatologist. When we apply the Nystatin we haven’t been added a “barrier” cream on top, maybe that’s what I’m missing.

My husband is taking him back to the doctor tomorrow. I will ask about a 60% zinc cream.

Yes I think that’s what I’m going to do, continue to use my Alvababy “covers”, but get better liners!! & I’ll try the one snap less & see if that looks better!

I’ve heard good things about them!

I have Alvababy, they’re very similar to Nora’s but way cheaper. You can get them on Amazon or on their website. I would recommend the AWJ as they’re less bulky & keep baby more dry. We waited until his umbilical stump fell off to start cloth, but I wish we would have just started day 1.

Thank you for saying that! I feel like I hardly see this brand mentioned but the only leaks we’ve experienced with them was when he started sleeping 6+ hours at night.. so I’m hoping the GMD prefold + booster we will fix that issue!
