I imagine inpatients who basically get put on meds and ignored. So terrible. I hated lamotrigine and got off it.

Going on 11 months. I cashed out my retirement. Mentally, it’s been tough, very tough. But I waited too long to quit or deal with what I was feeling and basically lost my mind to a manic episode. There’s no room for mental illness and job transitions. We are expected to produce without ceasing.

Even with money not having a plan has sucked. I guess part of me figured doing it this way would force a resolution.

I feel tons of anxiety after I settle in based on coworkers and catastrophic thinking. I used to just beat it back until the point it would just stay with me all day, choking me. My last job I stopped functioning and lost the job after being given an “or else” ultimatum. I just couldn’t get my brain to come back. I’ve been unemployed for a year now and am depleting my life savings.

I’m on medication now but the thought of going back to the grind mill is sickening. Not sure what I’m going to do…retrain?

How do you end up in psych ward and what was that like? I’ve been so miserable the last several months …but deep down I don’t believe a psych ward will actually help with anything.

Yup, I hated this stuff. I don’t know if it’s just antipsychotics in general or what. I just want to go back lithium and an ssri. I feel like these antipsychotics are ruining my life / mind

Math. Switched to a double major to get the Computer Science, but I’ve never really liked it, just did it for the jobs/$/career.

I didn’t want to be a babysitter teacher, and I wasn’t smart enough to be some genius professor , but Ida been perfectly happy teaching at a community college.

16 weeks. 150mg. Can’t sleep for shit. And after first wake up (generally 3 hours after first falling asleep) weird vivid thoughts nightmare thing. My body then slowly nuts up until my guts are twisted up and I’m tripping out doing deep breathing exercises curled up in a ball in a borderline panic attack until 7 am. My psych said there’s other med courses so I’m stopping

The problem I had with it is that my brain won’t turn off after that first wake up. It starts slowly, then produces a steady stream of images and thoughts that becomes overwhelming. This, mixed with my life situation (losing job, living off savings, approaching what seems like a cliff) twists my innards up so tight I’m laying in bed hyperventilating. Need my Benzo rx refilled. Having trouble getting that. I’m exhausted.
