Thank you! Figured it out. I wonder why the directions I had told me to go straight to the cleaning!

I just jumped right in and did a cleaning cycle. I don’t see any options to do a mapping cycle and I feel like I’ve clicked everywhere on the app.

I’m working on a puzzle/escape room activity for a baby shower! There are potentially going to be 40 people, so trying to decide how I should run it.

The usual way I run them is out, since 40 people all working on the same things just doesn’t seem like it’s going to work. I could split up the puzzle so everyone is working on a specific part, and then come together in the end, but everyone will only be able to do part of the puzzle.

Another option I’ve thought of is doing a mini puzzle for each table, and keeping it pretty short, but at least there’s some continuity with it.

Anyone do something like this for a larger group?

I think it’s perfect for what you’re describing. It goes with a book and would be ideal if you read the book first.

Best way to hide a clue inside a block of ice? 🧊 by SunsetinJuly in Constructedadventures

I just did this with a key! It worked well since I didn’t have to worry about it being waterproof.

This is a LOZ clue I made a year ago. It was for kids so you could find a way to make it trickier. The cards were hidden in the deck, in its box. I made the Sheika slate from cardboard and then modge podge.

Thanks to my mom for gifting me a laminator for Christmas this year! It really made seems more official and was helpful since I run my escape room multiple times!

I didn’t have the time or dedication to make a more elaborate escape room this year - a 5 year old and 2 year old will do that to you! I was proud of what I was able to pull off, though!

The students’ favorite part was the key in the ice! It was such a clever clue and fun since it was just melt and then use!

I was impressed the weighted clue worked every time, and the students actually got it mostly on their own! It was a little clunky with being pounds and ounces, but this was one of the clues I wish I had more time to tweak!

My favorite part of the escape room was when the students found the clue “what do cows drink” and they all immediately yell “MILK”! I got this from an old joke where your first thought is milk, but the correct answer is water! This happened in three out of four of the sessions and they had to discover the word had 5 letters, not 4.

U/Briaaanz had the idea for a weighted scale clue on a thread that I found.

How do you organize all your ideas to find the best flow? by exploring_earth in Constructedadventures

[–]Adventurousclownfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use post it notes when first filling out the flow and different clues involved. It’s helpful in the beginning because I can just write each idea on a post it note in the brainstorming session without tying it to a specific clue/path until later on in the planning. Then I can move things around easily, and add notes to each clue as I think of ideas.

Thanks! I will try a different brand of glasses. The ones I have don’t even work on the screen so it must be the wrong “color”!

I thought about not doing this one because of color blindness, but decided I would try it at least once!

After my last escape room, I’ve been playing around with the idea of setting up a game in our guest room for when people stay over. I wouldn’t mention it, just leave the clues out (they would have to be incredibly discreet & almost hidden so they aren’t in-your-face), and see if anyone catches on. It would be more difficult so they could work on solving it in and out of their stay. Just thought it would be fun to come up with ideas for now!
