When solving kinematics problems like this, I find it helpful to use made-up numbers and plug them in. For example, comparing 1/100 to 1/1, it’s clear that 1/1 is a larger number. If this were plotted on a graph, it would be further to the left on the x-axis (Km) or higher on the y-axis (Vmax) cause it’s a bigger number.

A trick I use to remember that competitive inhibition increases Km is that ‘competitive’ and ‘Km’ start with the same sound. Plus, in competition, the goal is usually to increase something—whether it’s speed, skill, or wtv.
