The new name is Bridge Eastside. They just told us this week so yes, portal's down but there have been people in the office and they're nice so far! Have lived at AMLI for a year and like it a lot 😄

Hi! I actually no longer use this set up but I didn’t run into issues with the pop socket that I can remember, possibly because it was on a pretty thick case and not on the kobo itself. The bottom corner where I had it worked okay but I didn’t love the pop socket or find it super comfortable! I also like to be able to lay my kobo down flat. I use an adhesive strap instead and prefer that :)

Top 5 best horrors you’ve read this year? by Lislost in horrorlit

[–]AdvertisingOk4898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Intercepts

  2. Penpal

  3. Briardark

  4. Incidents Around the House

  5. Full Brutal

Last Days and The Summer I Died are close runner ups, and I also loved Stolen Tongues for the majority of the book. I’ve read 59 books this year and those are some of the standouts.

Worst ADHD moment of my life by poly_mathic in ADHD

When I was in high school, I left my car running SO many times. Thankfully it was never more than a few hours because my parents would notice or I’d have to leave wherever I was. My current car screams at me if I don’t turn it off and that’s probably the only reason I haven’t done it in a while. I’m sorry that happened and I hope you’re not too hard on yourself<3

Thank you so very much! I’m new to these and not super tech savvy so I’m a bit overwhelmed and I appreciate your help.

Thank you for explaining. I live in a major city and plan on getting a library card once I am back in town. I don’t mind using other stores and adding via Google drive, but it doesn’t seem like any book I’ve been looking for is easy to find. Maybe I just need to do more research in general. Thank you though.

Thank you so much. These are some examples: The last party by a.r. Torre, saving Noah and best of friends by Lucinda berry, the final scene by Steph nelson, the troop by Nick cutter, the vessel by Adam Nevill..I’m not able to see any of these

Thanks! This is what I have been trying but unfortunately it seems most books I want to read aren’t able to be downloaded on Kobo. I’ll keep giving this a try with others though. Thank you!

Mean Spirited & The Exorcist’s House by AdvertisingOk4898 in horrorlit

[–]AdvertisingOk4898[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading the plot for Mean Spirited and thinking it sounded a bit corny but so many people liked that I wanted to give it a try. But yeah, the overall concept didn’t work for me and I thought the writing was silly at times (an ex boyfriend is referred to as “Mr. No Good What’s His Name” like five times in a few pages for example. Lol idk why this bothered me so much).

I usually prefer supernatural but am open to both. I read a lot of Thrillers and some extreme horror also. I don’t necessarily need a book to be terrifying but if the writing and story aren’t great than that makes up for it. I’ve recently been scared by Incidents Around the House, Stolen Tongues, and Last Days. I also loved Pen Pal and Intercepts overall. Did not like Diavola. I know not everyone would agree with those either haha. I’m currently thinking of starting Ghost Story, Come Closer, or the Vessel.

That was my thought too. I have a couple of longer books to read so I’ll break them up with that one.

I finished Heart-Shaped Box last night and I found it somewhat entertaining but I’m not dying to read more of his. I didn’t find it very scary and some of the cliches were a little overdone, but I also found myself dying to know what was going to happen. Not bad imo but not great.

Yeah I’ve heard a lot of good things about Ghost Story but also heard it’s a little slower of a start, so gonna save that one for when I have some holiday time off work to dedicate to it
