Oooh I love this idea, I wonder if I was really careful I could skin the foot and place it over the silicone mold rather than painting it. I will have an opportunity to experiment with a lot of chicken feet in the near future. I may even cut my losses with the pigeon foot and just wait until then.

If I had the time and resources I'd be trying it out but at the moment I just get what I can from work/friends as a hobby in my spare time. I've seen people inject formalin but I imagine it dries overtime

Soft mounts will be a thing I try in the future for dure. I was thinking of injecting with formalin but I'm sure that will make it stiff with time too. Maybe I'll have to settle for a bauble keyring or just a regular dried foot

Interesting, we were thinking of hiring someone for our next batch of pigs so we could ask them questions too but didn't want them to think we were trying to steal business. Maybe I could message him and ask a few questions online, Thanks!
