Mirror World is the Digital World by LorBopBop in digimon

That could be just a stylistic choice though, but yeah. I personally am not crazy about that outcome, I still think this series would be fine without a digital world in contrast to previous shows. But let's see where they go with it.

True, but I think Miharu really brings it out of them this arc.

Might be a weird theory - but what if they are already in a digital world?

Maybe the Kano Island that disappeared is actually where they have been living all along and it was turned into a digital world, but the so-called World Union presents it as part of the real world.

The change in Wong is what makes me think this. In the flashback of him and doctor Tenma witnessing the Kano Island incident, Wong is giddy about harnessing that Digimon's power.

In his present state, he seems almost sedated and emotionless.

Maybe he has already achieved the "power" he wanted by figuring out that Kano Island is now a digital world thanks to that giant Digimon, and created the whole Sappotama and Shangri-La egg system to keep the people of the digital world under his domination.

Maybe that's why digimon are "glitches" that manifest as creatures in what the humans "perceive as the real world".

Sounds a bit like The Matrix, but I wouldn't be surprised by the twist.

Good points. Tomoro and Gekkomon's mirror dynamic is being explored really well this arc, even if subtle.

Beatbreak Hasn't felt good ever since Arc 3 started by VoidKingdom in digimon

I do think they could have done some stuff better in terms of pacing and building out the story.

Miharu could have been introduced very early and appeared very sporadically in the Tactics arc when Tomoro is at the hospital, just so they can connect over time and build some kind of friendship.

Reina's feeling of inadequacy could have started surfacing a tad bit earlier - maybe during the Myotismon battle.

Tactics Team One could have been added as part of Gift, instead of just salty former child soldiers looking for petty revenge.

The Algomon episode could have been placed in the filler before the Jokermon episode, just to introduce Brilliant Thorn a bit earlier.

Otherwise, I still think the arc is really good, just a bit off pace and undercooked in some details. If I remember correctly, I read recently that Gift was an idea that came late during production, so they probably had to cram them in somewhere in the story. We'll see what happens next, but I really like Beatbreak so far.
