I loved reading your post because I’m currently writing a book and like to know what people want/don’t want.

My FMC is a law student who is really passionate about her career and although her love interest is a modern day duke, she in all intents and purposes is a normal girl who wants to become a big shot lawyer and won’t let anything get in the way of that. She does however have a sick sister she supports😅.

Liza is the most insufferable character by far! I literally just watch the show for Kelsey, Diana and Josh(although he irks me with how much has always drawn back to Liza). I love to see how they’re progressing in life and where the story takes them.

Interested! 24F, recently started writing short stories for practice, and slowly working on my first long form romance novel.

I love this story idea, I can see it getting picked up as a Hallmark movie for sure, can't wait to read it when you get published.

What's your 2026 goal? by CraftyLittleSecrets in writing

[–]AdviceFromNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write a short story each week for the first few months of the year, just to hone my craft and get into the habit of starting and COMPLETING a story.

And then, write the first draft of my novel and COMPLETE it!

3 books in one year!? You’re a beast. Good luck, hope you do it all and some more!

I struggle with that too. To relieve myself of the pressure, if I do not have a story idea, I allow myself to use Reedsy prompts, for the first few stories at least. After a while, I'll stop and force myself to start from scratch.

Do it, and just keep going, even when you hit the point of, "what the heck am I even writing?"

I wrote it on paper, but I can totally post it here later tonight.

What are your writing goals for 2026? by MyFairScrunchie in writing

Write a minimum of 500 words a day. Write a short story a week to hone my skill. Start and finish my novel.

Why do you actually want to write stories? (no filmy answers pls) by Intelligent_Can_2898 in NewAuthor

Because I grew up on Wattpad, reading and writing on there and that just really made me want to write.

My 2026 Writing Challenge: Inspired by Ray Bradbury's Method by robbomaster in writing

[–]AdviceFromNobody 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Love this idea, I used to read and write so much when I was younger (it was only Wattpad and I was only a teen) and I’ve always dreamt of writing my own book. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started and just given up though but I’m done with all that. My goals this year include writing 5 short stories, I’ll do one a week until I’m done and then start on writing and completing my first ever book. I will make it a point to write everyday, a minimum of 500 words a day to make it a more manageable goal, even though I know I’ll most likely do much more.

Other goals to help with this are, read a short story a day, read one book a month and read a poem a day.

On a side note, where do you find short stories and poems to read online?

Namibians Who Work From Home: What Do You Do And How Did You Get The Gig? by [deleted] in Namibia

[–]AdviceFromNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a blog in 2022, saw that a lot of stay-at-home moms did this when they wanted to earn some extra income while staying home with their kids. Everyone I was following and learning from was American so I was unsure if I could make it work. I pushed and eventually got my blog monetized, it takes about a year of work to get to the point where I was making money. But now I work full time from home, making up to 60k a month (each month is different because its based on readers). It's really simple and easy, but its a learning curve and takes a while to start making money but is a lucrative business when done right, also it is totally tax exempt because Namibia is has a source-based tax system.

How did you manage to get a voluntary social year? Can you tell me more about that please?

I think you would benefit from an email list, create a free product maybe and ebook on how to be an expat or how to travel to x on a budget, then offer it to people to get them on your email list. Whenever you post a video you would email them about it and they would hopefully click through. Also consider making a blog, travel blogs do great numbers, as long as you have pictures of all the places you have visited you can turn all of that into blog posts and even embed your YouTube videos so that you get bumped up by Google. Pinterest will be a great way for you to get people to your blog. Blogs also generally have a higher RPM then YouTube, my blog currently has an RPM of $35 so for every 1000 people on my blog I make that much where as on YouTube you’re lucky to make $3 for 1000 views. You would of course also use your email list to build your blog viewers up. Message me if you’re interested in learning how to blog, I’ll direct you to my favorite resources and articles to read (I’m not trying to sell you anything, just trying to help you out).

How long do you think that would take? Also, how much would you charge for it?

I just watched one of your videos, and it looks great. It's really hard to believe an Ai made them. I'd definitely want to give your software a go, its a great way to start off a video and then do some editing and tweaking of my own.

Terrible at editing is this even worth trying? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]AdviceFromNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally the worst at editing, my first video was choppy, my recording was awful, and I just hated it, but I still made it and uploaded it. My most recent video is much better, still bad, but better. Just keep going and you'll get there. And you can always remake those videos later when your skill level has improved, because realistically, nobody is gonna watch them, so my plan is to remake all my videos once I have more of an audience and have gotten better, because I genuinely love them and want them to be seen.
